As some one with AF+4.5 I appreciate the effort but was shocked! Maybe some general had the 4.5 and tolf those guys if they didn't want their first assignments to be at the North Pole they better go for it.

Pretty simple reason why they did it, although not practical.

No way to explain it unless you are gambling unless he was setting up the FG and a Safety (LOL) to win. If anything it is the completely wron move because if they would have scored another TD and missed the extra point it wuld have gone to ot VS winning the game. Would love to hear his explaination.:smoker2:

I couldn't believe it but you can bet the coach knew the line. How else can you explain it. Can you imagine if they would of got the 2 points.

i actually took cal -4.5 live betting at +222 and was pretty shocked when they went for it. could laugh about it afterwards but, if they converted, it would've been a bad ending for 2007.

:think2: there may be something to this theory. absolutely makes no since to go for 2 other than the chance to cover. government officials better hope this does not get discovered. could be a bigger coverup than blackwater.

It's a damn good thing that AF doesn't play in the MAC, that's all I gotta say!

Yep -- same here. I was HUGE on Cal (live betting), and got 2 heart attacks in the last few minutes: (1) the fumble; and (2) the 2-point conversion attempt. Wow!

And, amazingly, neither of the knucklehead announcers had a clue about the line. Al Michaels would have been all over that!! (he loves pointing out that stuff)

Like one poster above said -- I can laugh now, but it would've been ugly had they punched that in.

Shrink had AF and they showed him on the sidelines. He was the chubby guy with the leather jacket.

I didn't see the 2pt attempt. What was the play call and how close was AF to converting?

They went with the option to the left side, to Hall. Might not have been much of an "option" though -- looked like it was going to be pitched to Hall from the get-go. He got a yard, maybe a yard and a half, but Cal was waiting for him (thank God!). Close enough to make my heart race though.

The crazy thing is, AF even called a time out before the play (after the TD) -- so the coach had plenty of time to consider the call. So it's not like this was a knee-jerk reaction under time pressure, where he might have made the wrong call. This was deliberate; he wanted the two points. He wanted to cover.
