2. P Schnyder (SUI) -3 games over F Schiavone (ITA)-- .70u to win .54u......the money line is ridiculously inflated for Patty, given the quality opponent she faces and their h2h--I have to assume the ass beating Francesca took to Meghan yesterday has something to do with this. She was trailing 0-6,0-1 when Meghan had to retire with what appears to be potentially a serious knee injury. WTF was with Francesca yesterday? Meghan doesn't have game to blow her off the court, so i'm gogin to assume the Italian is not 'on', possibly no where near it. Patty has a match under her belt, straight set win over a qualifier...........hth since '01 5-3 for the Italian. In Patty's 3 wins over the Francesca she has covered this line in all of them, 3-0.

nt-- massive monies flowing on Golovin at the Hopman Vs Jankovic. Strange line move.

spot on Rail

parlay is an easy winner as the Chinese dynamic duo is reunited, Zheng finally back from injury. Patty wins but doesn't cover, yuck.

S Peer (ISR) +100 over D Safina (RUS)-- not for the faint at heart, lol. Not getting a good line here as steady monies on Shahar all day. 3-0 h2h for wild Dinara. Their last meeting saw a monumental collapse by Peer up 6-4,5-1 to lose 6-4,6-7,1-6. I think Dinara as well as compatriot Petrova both have a declining yr in '08. Peer has looked real good so far at Gold Coast, not so for Dinara--both her wins have gone the distance including a 10 double fault, lost serve SIX times performance Vs Flavia. She's going to have to hit a lot of balls today as Peer is a very good retriever.

not for the faint at heart, lol

:missingte.....Shahar wins 4-6,6-1,7-6

unbelievable match. INCREDIBLE choke job by Safina. Dinara led 6-4,1-6,5-4 40-0 triple match point:missingte. Peer, who NEVER quits, wins 5 straight points. Exchange service games, unto the tiebreak. Peer match point on serve--no, Safina ANOTHER match point--double fault:missingte...Peer finally wins.

at Chennai

C Moya (ESP) +4.5 games over R Nadal (ESP)-- .75u to win .71.............compatriots and good friends to do battle in the semi's today. A large number for Nadal to cover Vs a class veteran hardcourt player. Neither player has played quality in this tournament. Moya has a good history at Chennai, comfortable environment-- won in '04, won in '05, semi's in '06. Last two matches has not been broken, infact didnt face break point Vs Serra. h2h since '01 is 4-2 for Nadal-- there last 3 meetings in best-of-three have all gone the distance. Moya sounds quite upbeat for '08--and rightfully so, maybe the solid '07 yr will be springboard for moments of glory for '08.....no evidence to support a poor effort from Carlos today

VAMOS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol. Seriously, there's a hockey rink in nearly every city, small town in Canada. We grow up playing the game, put our kids in the game, they put their kids in the game, etc. For us, junior hockey is just as important as the pros, to some moreso. We take a lot of pride in our hockey. Btw,not only did we win the World Jr's today (under 20), we also won a Jr under 17 title, here in Ontario. We are on a great roll, truly amazing--7 STRAIGHT visits to the World Jr finals, can you imagine that?:103631605..anyway......

Sydney WTA

N Petrova (RUS) :think2: -136 over S Bammer (AUT)-- 1.36u to win 1u.....a battle of top 20 veterans in what you should be a good one. Nadia changed plans after her debacle first round exist to Garbin:WTF: last week at Auckland. She decided she needed more matches in before The AO. Given this, motivation must be high--get that bad loss out of her system. 2007 was a down yr for Petrova finally existing the top 10 after a two yr stay (aided by persistent nagging injuries). She'a an accomplished hardcourt player with a powerful serve, surprising soft hands at the net (for a big girl) and a massive top spin forehand. She enters '08 healthy. She has played Bammer 3 times over 3 years ON THREE DIFFERENT surfaces, winning all matches--note that two of those were in '07, which was a Sybille breakout yr........Bammer is a late bloomer that has seen her ranking rise every yr since 2000, amazing. She finished 2007 inside the top 20. I think she'l be hard pressed to stay there. She's a lefty with a powerful game, a fitness nut. She ended 2007 on a poor run, 2-4. Starts off '08 with a first rd loss to N Li last week--infact in her last 5 tournaments she has failed to get past the first round in 3 of them. Vs top 15 players dated back to '07 she is 2-8......neither player wants to start off 0-2 heading to Melbourne Park, so this should be a good one.

Rough start to the season for me aswell. It's only been a week, so too much time left.

Getting very excited for the Aussie Open. Fed just withdrew from Kooyong as he's been feeling sick... He's nervous... Nalby's gonna eat him alive!
