They aren't three times better than any conference - that is exactly the attitude that many have. Most would agree that they are the best but it's not like they are head and shoulders above everybody. Some here think we should just eliminate the bowls and just crown the SEC champ the national champ
The SEC is still the best conference, but the chestbeating of the SEC homers was ridiculous. They would make it sound like Ole Miss could go into Michigan and win by a TD. I think both the Pac-10 and Big XII were very good conferences this year and though neither were as good as the SEC, the difference was nowhere near what lots of these SEC homers think

Actually if you want to do the last 10 years of the Citrus/Capital One and the Outback (the two bowls where these conferences are scheduled to meet every year), the Big 10 is actually 11-9 and has won the last 4 Capital One Bowls.
The Big 10 is not as bad as people make it out to be, and the SEC is not as good as people make it out to be.

I really wonder how long it's going to take people to realize that Big Ten, Big 12, Pac 10 and SEC are all pretty equal (at least in teh top half)

The SEC homers have nothing to go on now. Their so called best team had over a month to prepare and heal up from that schedule that they claimed caused Florida the shot at a national championship.

Just having a little fun with the SEC fans who scorn Michigan when they lost to Appy state.
But next year sub division 1 teams can be ranked in the top 25 thanks to Appy state AP change their rule to include sub division 1 teams.
They might have cracked the top 21-25 if that rule was in effect this year when the final AP poll came out.
