2008: The Year the Recession began

In the words of Dawoofdaddy, "blood on the streets".

All the signs are there:

-Housing market continues to slump
-Credit crunch for financial institutions
-Devaluation of the dollar
-Declining forward corporate profits
-Decrease in capital spending
-Commodity price increases
-Consumer spending evaporating
-Poor government fiscal policies

Oil went over $100 a barrel on the first day of trading, Gold hit a record high. The market tanked as a precursor of things to come.

All the signs are there and it is only a matter of time before the disconnect between Wall Street and the real world evaporates.

Blood on the streets, indeed.

80s and 90s were great for me. slow down started in 2002. I blame sept 11, 2001 for most of it. Housing market in Atlanta went to shit.

The pieces have been in place for a while, but the house of cards is ready to collapse. Even the red herring policies the government is doing to prop up the economy and the market won't help soon.

We've known it was coming and hopefully most guys like you and me have prepared for it, but I'm pretty sure the common man is going to feel the wrath pretty hard if they already haven't.

Sure will. Northern Nevada is one of the major hotspots for vacant land right now.

i feel basically the same way, things have never felt like they did when Bill Clinton was Prez...NEVER since he left. Bush has been a total and complete disaster as president, in the bottom 10 of all time for sure.

You've got mail... I would like to sell my land, but also if u know of some great land deals in USA in which you cannot afford to purchase the whole thing and there is some good land deals left over I would love to go partners on them, or buy some myself.
