Just would like to know the thoughts of your spouse's, girlfriends' thoughts about gambling...

HERES MY STORY..

I have always like to gamble and she knew that when I met her. It wasn't so much sports but Texas Hold'em. Although I never made any money playing online poker I did enjoy it. Live poker thats a different story. I made money just about everytime I played. She hated it either way. Its not like the house was being forclosed and we had nothing to eat. Nothing like that. She called it throwing money away. I decided to give it up for the best of the relationship. Well now I am starting over again with sportsbetting. It is a lot different compared to my poker habit. I win, I have been winning for about a month. She says cashout while your ahead. I worked a bit of OT to save up $500, to deposit on a sportsbook. In the last 5 or so days I turned that $500 into about $1400. While I wanna keep going with it she is nagging me to cash it out. I dont want to cash it out, I want to make a nice sized bankroll of it. I know it is greedy but, thats a gambler. It would be different if the money was meant for something as in a bill or what not.. Any adviced1g1t? or thoughts:think2:? or am I just an idiot

first of all get rid of her if she nags u... its not good to have a woman tell u what to do and/or nag, leads to problems down the road with many other issues... i would at least cash out your initial deposit of 500 and take a shot with the rest if your working ot to fund your account it seems the logical thing to do...

Spend some of the winnings on her doing something that you'd normally never splurge for. Then tell her to STFU & deal with it or leave.

That's a temporary solution. She will not change over the long haul. She will eventually bitch about the gambling again. His decision is to either accept the fact she hates his gambling or leave her.

Cash out everything but your initial $500, and start betting again. your plays will be more conservative with a smaller roll. I've cashed out 3 times this football season, and each time it was after reaching 3X my initial deposit. I have been on the coldest run in several yrs and my roll is almost outty, but I'll still be up for the season. don't be an idiot. you'll be up and you can keep playing until you blow up.

i would lost the majority of my roll if I hadn't been cashing out along the way.

No, but I was very, very close....and then she turned into a lamp throwing nut job out of the blue because "she was having a bad day" (and I think the cotton pony had a little to do with it).

I learned a lot during that falling out. I bent over backwards to make things work, but there came a time where I just finally said "Fuck this".

but you're right.....if they want to hold something against you, it will never go away, it just goes back into the ammo closet.

I think xpanda going nuts the day she had a falling out with the Shrink is pretty understandable...but that's just me.

Calmly tell her it is something you enjoy doing, the money spent is no different than going to the movies or dinner, and that you are going to continue to do it and that's that. She can either deal with it or go find her a guy at Viejo's homo bar
