If hoops and football can have halftime lines, why can't hockey have lines between periods 1 and 2 and again between 2 and 3?

There certainly is more than enough time with 20 min. between periods to offer a line? Is it because it would require too much mathematics splitting things into thirds instead of halves?

Or too many variables in hockeys that distiguigh scoring in the 2nd and 3rd periods vs. just the 1st? I think I remember seeing it in the NHL All star game but never during the reg. season? Just wondering...

Very good question. I have always wondered about that. I think I just wrote it off as "because there is not much interest in between-period betting" and/or that the books would have to really juice things up to make a line not push (otherwise, what's the point of bringing out a line for 2nd or 3rd period if it will be pk/pk or +0.5 -190/-0.5 +170)? Not sure. I'm very interested to see what others would say.

I guess I figured if I could go to the Greek and bet on snooker, darts, Japanese Soccer or American Idol, then head to 5 Dimes and wager on the Womens Hoops or Div III FB, there could be more widely offered hockey lines between periods.

I do agree with the thought that there would be alot of pk-170 lines, but I guess I never thought Vegas would back down from offering any line possible on any event.

I think it is because it would be to hard to put odds on individual periods as the team might have taken a late penalty in say the 1 st period then that penalty time would carry-over to the next period. Therefore they would have to have someone watching each game and capping them for this kind of action.
BTW the greek took action on all the periods a few years back but you had to bet them before the start of the game:toast:

You can bet periods before the game starts at several places, CRIS books are one.
