I have a pre-installed trial version, that can only be opened 25 times without a 25 digit product key.

Important Although you are not required to enter your Product Key at installation, we recommend you do so because it helps to verify that your software is legitimate. You may run your 2007 Microsoft Office system programs up to 25 times before you are required to enter a Product Key. After this grace period, if you have not entered a valid Product Key, the software goes into Reduced Functionality mode and many features are unavailable.
What do you want to do?

..............................................................................................

What do you lose after the 25 times ? How much is full version ?

WNO : Do I need the full version for your spreadsheet ?

My wife bought me a $2500 Sony Vaio for Christmas 2 years ago from Best Buy. She knows nothing about computers- asked the employee if it had Excel, Word, etc. Of course he said yes...but he didn't say it was just the trial version!!! $2500 and no Microsoft Office. Best Buy is awesome.

just had to vent after I remembered that. Not sure on the price, but I ended up buying the software through my company at a discount. You will not lose any saved information and you will need the full version to use any spreadsheet.

Cost ?

Where to buy it ?

I ordered it online, student version microsoft office version 2007. It was like 70 or 80, has word, excel, powerpoint, and a few others that I dont need.

much cheaper then the entire version which costs a few hundred.

That sounds good as long as it will make the spreadsheet function. I'll ask Wil for the email.

Thank You

doug, you could download it off a torrent site or if you want to go completely legit, use open office 2.3 which is very similar.

What's a torrent site, Limewire ?

Do you have to buy 2.3 ?

I'm not worried about illegal use, already a criminal gambler.

Maybe the title of the thread should've been "How can I get a free version of excel?"

I wasn't totally sure if I'm supposed to get it with the computer or not, but I leaned to not.

I'm a novice at Excel.

Well in that case, try this link :toast:

Using a bit torrent site is another option and probably a little faster. Torrents are p2p sharing - common ones are utorrent, bitcomet and azureus.

Open office is completely free.

Not sure . Excel came with this computer about 2 years ago.

I was a novice until I started fooling around with it. Another poster here helped me a lot last year with formulas for my spreadsheet.
