I dont agree. 8 viewing in the last 2 hours. That is more often than those fossils were getting bumped in the main forum where they are more of a nuisance than anything. Please. Leave them there.

It's OK to segregrate them to classic,IMO...if they can also get bumped to main forum, I don't like the current format.

Let the masses opine, RF !

I don't think you are taking into account the search engine. It is not always easy for a lot of users to find these gems. Or even know they exist.

It's like walking into a museum. Would you have thought such and such an exhibit/fact about history was cool if they didnt present it for you?

I do understand your point about 'adding to it' . But if the topic is that important than I'm sure there is a creative way to state the same thing again.

I think the masses will agree with me that the threads should be bumpable to main forum.

'The masses' wanted that forum in the first place. It's not something we just concocted on our own.

No need to have a major production over this..

Anyone who wants a classic thread moved to the Offshore forum and bumped to the top can do so easily be emailing me a link to the thread along with the title of the thread.

wilheim@therx.com CC person19481950@yahoo.com

I will then move the thread in question and bump it to the top of the Offshore Forum.

Otherwise the classic threads will be buried in the tens of thousands of day to day threads that are stored here in the Offshore Forum and nearly impossible to find without a keyword and poster name from within the thread who posted the keyword.

perhaps it seemed a good idea at the time, but in reality it wasn't ?

I'd like to hear thoughts from general posters instead of mods on this subject.

Not every idea is a good one. I don't know who is most responsible for the creation of said forum.

I'm trying to be constructive about it, I think the best threads ever get trapped down there.

There are some good threads in there. Why have it deleted just because you don't read it? Some of us do.

i never heard of the classic forum either. i figured if somebody digged up an old thread it just popped back up in the forum it came from. if it has legs we add on to it, if it has no added appeal it fades away again. that makes sense to me.

That's my point, these threads are effectively closed, and they aren't junk threads !

Look back, it can be a month+ before one of these is dug up and posted in again.

One of my jailed threads, p1 classic I believe, only 11 pages of classic threads exist.

http://www.therxforum.com/showthread.php?t=403572

OK to isolate them, but they need bumpability to main,IMO !, otherwise it's a graveyard. Why kill good threads ? Sometimes they come back to life if bumped, RX gets new posters often.

Several veteran posters say they don't know classic exists.

Anyone who cant figure out how to email a mod to have one of those threads moved can.

Use the Report a Post icon at the bottom left of the #1 post in the thread you want bumped to the top of the Offshore Forum - it will be acted upon promptly by being moved to the Offshore Forum and bumped to the top..

Icon:

All posts have this icon at bottom left.

Simply click on the icon in Post #1 of your Classic Thread and type "Move to Offshore Forum".

Very simple.

Thanks, wil..
