end the quarter on a 19-3 run and lead by 10. Still a long way to go back but nice start.

Damn. Had to sweat out my pick'em Pistons 1st half bet as they win it by 2. Looks to be living up to its billing as Celts score 29 points in 2nd quareter and cut the lead to 2 at the half.

It's been a bit crazy.

But Detroit seems to be more in control with the Celtics having to scrap for their points.

The back to back 3's sequence between Ray and Hamilton , that was awesome.

Billups drills a 3. Really just assign someone to him already. I'm sick of it.

the officiating has been brutal...Glenn Davis playing very well, should've gotten the charge against Billups.

and Celtics outrebounding Pistons...on the road...49-36.

Boy this is the same old Garnett - did he play in the last 5 minutes? - I was watching the game but he must have subbed out - C's are lucky that Davis is actually a very tough player - that offensive board won the game for them

Yeah he played the last 5 mins...lots of two man game w/ Pierce...while Pierce came off the ball screens...he was able to find Davis for some clutch shots.

Looks like Danny found a gem in the 2nd round of the draft.

So funny. Danny, we hated him for so long. And now he is just something else.

very true. the funny thing is ainge's draft record is pretty good.

problem is that he was always caught in no mans land w/ the draft and then free agency for a few years, and could never make any progress.

Paul Pierce took Tayshaun Prince to school and back again...That match up and Big Baby picking up the slack left laying around when KG got in foul trouble was the difference..Chauncey aired a three late and even missed some free throws down the stretch to grab co-goat honors with Tayshaun for the Pistons..

Nice win for The Celts.

price vs. prince is not fair............if they played one on one the rest of their lives for rent money tayshaun would be homeless

I watched the Celtics play the OKC Hornets in in late March last year, and it was embarrassing. Paul pierce was 20 lbs overweight and they had completely quit on Doc Rivers. This is one of the greatest single season turnarounds I've witnessed in my lifetime.

Actually the real difference as usual was KG...

When Kevin Garnett was in the game, Boston outscored the Pistons by 23 points, when he was on the bench with foul trouble, the Pistons outscored the Celtics by 16 points.

As a longtime Celtics fan this team is such a joy to watch. I have followed the Celtics since the Cowens,JoJo white days and through all the ups and downs. I actually haven't seen much of this team this year because I didn't really think they would be more than a .500 team even with the trades and refused to get get my hopes up. :shootbb:

Had a big wager on over 181-1/2 (did hit the 2nd half over 90). Billups and Hamilton go 2 for 6 from the line in the closing moments. The last FT miss by Billups kept the game under, especially with Detrout getting the offensive rebound. They proceed to burn 20 seconds and throw up an airball. Since it's a 3 point game and there's 32 seconds left, they don't have to foul. That one FT miss and rebound was a complete disaster (unless you had under). If he makes the FT, the game has about a 70% chance of going over.

Ah that sucks. That was such a wierd part of the game because Gorman was rambling on and on about how great of a free throw shooter Billups is. I don't believe in the jinx. But that almost made me change my mind.

I think I deserve way more credit than Gorman for jinxing the shots. I they were to go in, I would have won too much money and that is not permitted.

Disclosure: I did have a big play on over 195 the night before against Memphis and that was a minor miracle cover (although I could see it coming from a distance).
