Brett Favre is leaning toward returning for another season with the Green Bay Packers, according to comments he made to his hometown newspaper.

In an article posted on the Web site of The Sun Herald of Biloxi, Miss., on Thursday, Favre said he was not approaching Saturday’s playoff game against Seattle as if it would be his final game in Green Bay. He seemed more optimistic about returning than in years past.

“For the first time in three years, I haven’t thought this could be my last game,” Favre told the newspaper. “I would like to continue longer.”

Favre has taken weeks and even months to make his decision after recent seasons. He teared up on television at the end of last season, leading many to believe he was set on retiring.

He is doing surprisingly well this year.....the defense, run game, and supporting cast I"m sure has more to do with it than him having to force throws.

I may be the only, but I enjoy watching the old timers pull nice runs towards the end of their career....Favre's reminds me of Clemens or Nickalaus at the masters at age 44 or something....

Favre is no clown albeit he may clown around. Watched the Farve4ever CD produced by the NFL Network narrated by Billy Bob Thornton. Amazing athlete. The CD has some great behind the scene Favre antics, good and bad.

Funny and serious. He faces the public AND admits to his pain killer addiction, seeks help then goes on to win Superbowl. Deals with death of father by his memoriable MNF game against the Raiders. His dad is often featured in the CD.

Some funny clips from his Atlanta days coached by Glanville.

Excellent CD

It's amazing how some fans/posters take the time to say something negative about this guy considering how so many athletes in todays world are causing so much trouble or seldom give 100% on the field.

I still stand by my personal opinion that when everything is taken into consideration, he is still the best quarterback I've ever witnessed in my lifetime.

He can leave today balling again and I'd be a happy camper.

Was a better player when he was pounding pain killers.

Gets a free pass whenever he pukes a game in recent years. It always cuz "he doesn't have the talent around him" according to the media. Last year, he made it a ritual to throw a gift in the air to the opponent whether GB was still in the game or not and then walk off smiling like an asshole. He bailed on his team when they needed him to be smarter. He's the only qb in the history of the NFL that gets commended for forcing throws week after week.

The drama queen balls the minute the cameras are on him and every year drags out the organization as to whether he is going to play again or not. While he's doing this, he has no interest in supporting the future of the team or the fans that OWN and loyally follow GB by openly stating he has NO interest in helping out his backup and the future of the GB organization.

No doubt he's a monster talent and has passed a ton of milestones. He can leave and take is drama with him. I don't think he is considered in as high a regard by most people as some, especially tv, hold him in. Time will bear that out though.

GB lost twice to the Bears.

Well said. We share the same veiw. The haters cannot dismiss the facts that this guy is a gamer and actually loves the game for what it is. Sure, the media hype, his decisions to come back are overplayed, but this guy is a treat to watch in an era of ME and MY$$$$$$$ first. Anyone who enjoys football should visit Lambeau for a game before he retires. They had 15K fans for a stupid pep rally last night.
99% of the haters would have truley loved this guy running their team.
Lay the 7- today.

Storied franchise that is seen none better.

how many turnovers did Favre have in losing to the dome team Falcons at home
3?
Didn't they lose at home to the dome team Vikings the next year in the playoffs <G>
How many single season records does Favre hold?
He has longevity awards

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Michael Vick has spent all season doing things that pro quarterbacks aren't supposed to do.

He wasn't about to be bothered by the Lambeau Field mystique.

Vick added to his growing legend by becoming the first visiting quarterback to lead his playoff team to a victory in Green Bay.

The Falcons and their 22-year-old quarterback scoffed at one of football's greatest legends: The Packers are supposed to be unbeatable when playing on their home field in the playoffs.

Vick didn't put up overly impressive passing numbers. But he made every play that counted, continually baffling Green Bay's pass rush.

The most striking moment came late in the first half. Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila had Vick cornered along the sideline until he pushed away the 255-defensive end, spun around and broke free for a 10-yard run.

"He had me," Vick said. "I was just trying to use my abilities. It was just another great play."

Gbaja-Biamila wasn't sure what happened against Vick.

"I'm speechless," he said. "He's elusive. He uses leverage. He uses a lot of things. He uses your momentum against you."

of course they are :lolBIG:

Packers fans pick cash over playoffs
GREEN BAY - While tickets to the four NFL conference semifinal games officially are sold out, plenty are available — at a price.

In Green Bay, ticket brokers say they have been surprised at the number of people wanting to resell their tickets to the Packers' game Saturday against the Seattle Seahawks and former Green Bay coach Mike Holmgren.

"I don't know if they think it's [because of] Mike Holmgren or they tell me that it's going to be Brett Favre's last game," said JoshAnderson, manager of Ticket King near Lambeau Field. "They think they're going to get rich."
Anderson was selling $108 face-value tickets in cheaper areas of the stadium for $199 to $249. That's a lower profit margin than what scalpers across the country are getting for the tour of 15-year-old Miley Cyrus, star of the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" TV show.

Its Geen Bay dude. $$ talks. Opportunity. I have season tickets and sell them every year and that pays for next season. Been there done that in Lambeau. You are obviously a little kid who loves his Bears and hates GB. Fine, that is what rivalries are about.

Would you rather watch a game on your 60" plasma with replays, refridgerator, bathroom, family and friends, home cooked food?

That is my choice! With money in my pocket to boot.

Dont be afraid, lay the best number you can get on GB and enjoy. Maybe you can afford Bears tickets then.

good luck.

BTW, My 11 year old was put on the season ticket holder list at birth. He was 46,678 at the time. Now is 19,954. How is that for what this game is about. Do not think there is anything like it.

Prove me wrong.

Just tell me WHO is playing today. You might not want to watch. Your vigor will turn even worse after this game. Feel free to bash if GB loses.

I am a big boy. Goodnight. I have a party to watch my team in the playoffs.

I'm going to watch....even if they win the NFC it's like being crowned the tallest midget....just like last year.
The Pats/Colts will take out whomever they face in the bowl.
Enjoy your party.
