I just had a pop up on my computer saying someone is trying to access my computer do I want to log off or deny.

WHAT THE FRICK IS THAT? Never seen it before. Any ideas?

I have Vista and im new to it, dont think it was antivirus,and where do I find out about the firewall

I'll let one of the Vista experts handle this. I have XP. I know there are many security warnings on Vista. Do you have a file-sharing program running? Could be someone is trying to download music.

DID the pop up say "your computer may be infected click "OK"" please scan using our antivirus scanner? or somthing to that affect? Did it happen while surfing the web right after opening a web page?

Just said someone is trying to access your computer in a box in middle of screen.

Never have seen it in all my years and it wasnt a pop up

TTP, I have Zonelabs lifetime membership, it's all you need: firewall, antivirus, spam prevention and so on, it updates automaticly, if you want it say the word..

This will not protect you from the "Cleveland Steamer Virus"

From my experience any Windows based firewall is garbage.. Go to that page that was put up and see if your Vista firewall is up, if not, turn it on, then I can give you ZoneAlarm and you can turn that garbage off.

D/L Trial...After you download the trial and have it up and running (is real easy, just follow the steps and answer the questions) the firewall is configured for your needs. After this, on the main screen of Zonealarm click "Overview" on the top left, then click "Product info" on the right, then click where it says enter license code or somthing like that. then type in the code I will send you via email. I will ask Wil or one of the other mods for your email or you can have mine, which ever.
