It's seven days out, so a lot can change, but the early forecast for next Sunday's NFC championship game between the Packers and the Giants calls for a high of 7 degrees. Ice Bowl II?

WHY ?

The Packers are very well equipped to play in that cold and Favre will thrive in that and Eli I dont think can handle it but Im biased on that.

Packers 28-10

Because the bad weather aids the underdog.

However, I'm confident the Pack will prevail.

This thread is a big non-story.

Giants arent exactly a dome or a warm weather team here.

You act like Jersey and Miami, Florida are interchangible.

On a perfect day the Packers would defeat the Giants by 20+ points............on any field.

HOMER alert.

on a perfect day the dolphins beat the pats by 20. What's your point?

Actually, have great respect for the Giants after watching their performance yesterday.........I really underestimated this team. Very impressed with their run defense, RW Mcqaurters scares the crap out of me, ELI played wonderfully, and their recievers are more than adaquate.

Expecting a hard fought game on the tundra in GB.

The thing I really like about GB right now is their health/injury status. They are for the most part 100% healthy.........and this is a team that when healthy has no glowing weaknesses.

I know this sounds crazy, but 10 years from I think one will look back on this team and see no less than NINE all-pro defensive players comprised on this team.

Same here I had the Giants on the moneyline. They were only one ELi pick away from losing, but he managed to not throw one. I think your Pack rolls over these guys in Green Bay. This could be one hell of a Superbowl matchup. I am likely to take the Pack on the moneyline there.

Green Bay is for real. They are young, healthy and well coached.

Pack isn't rolling over this Giants team. 9-1 on the road. I had the Giants(and Chargers) on a money line bet and parlay, and I'm doing the same thing again next weekend.

What's so special about the Packers? They lost to the Cowboys who the Giants just beat! Once the Giants front four get to Favre, they will rattle the hell out of him and he will start making mistakes!

Look what Kearney did against Tauscher. 0. Check the stats. Sack leader with NO tackles. GB is primed. Confident and solid everywhere.

McCarthy signing a 3-5 year extension today or tomorrow. Best coach in NFL, youngest team and keeps them focused. No Mexico trips here folks, that comes after the Superbowl.

The weakest part of this team, the run game, has become their stongest.

I will disagree with Fish on KGB. Nothing more than a 3rd down pass rusher. They will need to pressure Eli and then lights out.

Something tells me the league is wishing they could switch the starting times and make the AFC championsip game the late one. No telling how cold Green Bay will be at night on January 20th...

I am sure Foxboro is going to be cold but Green Bay has the potential to be extremely frigid with a 6:30PM EST start..Throw in some snow and the game might end up being EPIC.....

The 1967 NFL Championship game in Green Bay AKA "The Ice Bowl"..

1710M.jpg

The 1967 game, played on December 31 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, remains the coldest NFL game on record. The official game-time temperature was -13°F / -25°C, with a wind chill around -48°F / -44°C. The bitter cold overwhelmed Lambeau's new turf heating system, leaving the playing surface hard as a rock and nearly as smooth as ice, is what officially happened but many think that Packer coach Vince Lombardi turned it off. The officials were unable to use their whistles after the opening kickoff; the referee blew his metal whistle to signal the start of play and it froze to his lips. For the rest of the game, the officials used their voices to end plays.

Several players, including Dallas defensive tackle Jethro Pugh and Green Bay quarterback Bart Starr, still claim to suffer occasional mild effects of the frostbite they developed that day. Dallas quarterback Don Meredith came down with pneumonia after the game and was hospitalized on his return to Texas. In addition to the effects of the weather, Starr absorbed a lot of punishment from Dallas players during the game; he was sacked eight times.

Furthermore, the Wisconsin State University - La Crosse Marching Chiefs band were supposed to perform the pregame and halftime shows. During warmups in the brutal cold, the woodwind instruments froze and wouldn't play, the mouthpieces of brass instruments got stuck to the players' lips, and seven members of the band were transported to local hospitals for hypothermia. The band's performances were canceled.
