This line is going higher IMHO ! I can't see how the line can stay at GB -7 !
Injuries to Giants, Extreme cold condition in GB and a total mismatch at QB will force this line even higher than - 7 1/2 that I have already seen here in Vegas. Palms had line at -6 1/2 yesterday ... big mistake ! Game time line could hit - 8 1/2 IMHO Green Bay has been a covering machine this year !

I see that it is only -101 at pinnacle, so you are probably right that the line will go to 7.5....

pinnacle charging a fortune to buy the 1/2 however, as +7.5 is -118.

You can get +7.5 -115 at betonline if you buy the 1/2. Betjamaica opened at +7 +100 which would have allowed you to buy to +7.5 -110.

As we get closer the weather forcast may also have an impact.

I just can't see how this line can not move higher ! Giants are a year or perhaps 2 away from being in the Super Bowl ! Green Bay will continue to not only win but beat the spread.

One thing your forgetting KERMIT......

Giant fans are full of sportsbettors, way more than Packer fans...........Giant fans and their unrealistic perception of their team(much like NYY fans), will perhaps keep this game a solid -7.

Personally, it would not surprise me to see GB win this game by 20+ points........then again, them losing wouldn't surprise me either.

Having said that........PREDICTION...........

GB 26
NYG 13

GO PACK

By the way Kermit, just between you and me, at this juncture I will be highly disappointed if the Pack does not win the Superbowl. Although I do believe NE to be the better team, GB is only a small notch below them at this time in my opinion. If the Packers come out of the Giants game with a win and are completely healthy, I absolutely love them getting double digits vs. the Pats in the Superbowl and it will probably in all liklihood be my largest SB wager ever. Getting that W against the Giants and coming away healthy is not going to be an easy thing unfortunatly. I have tremendous respect right now for this Giants team, even though I'm predicting a double digit win for the Packers.

Giants just might go to the SB THIS year! They're ONLY one game away from doing so. Take the blinders off and realize that this team has won 9 in a row on the road, and their defense CAN get to Bret Favre which is what makes him make mistakes.

No smart bettor will lay more than 6.5 or take back less than 7.5 in this game.

Take the blinders off ! Sorry my friend but I am the one that had the foresight to wager the 30/1 NFC on the Packers and I am well aware that if they should beat the Packers, they will be in the Super Bowl. Duh ! However I just don't see how the Giants with Manning at QB will beat the Packers and Favre in Lambeau Field in 8 degree weather. Being close to being in the Super Bowl and being 1 win away from being in the Super Bowl are 2 entirely different things.

By the way in case anyone has forgot.... Green Bay destroyed Giants 35-13 earlier this year and the game was at New York.

-7(-120) at Betjam right now. Which is the same as +/- 7.5 as -110.
Suprised it moved off -7 at all. Both public teams on key number.

Lapdance is absolutely correct. Favre is going to get buried in the snow by Straham and Osi.
Straham looked pretty docile to me in his last game. That's why they play the games however... We will see this weekend !

Kerm, why is the weather even a factor in your opinion? NY isnt a dome nor a warm weather team.

In fact one could argue that the weather would be a bigger factor if the game was in Giants Stadium with its swirling and unpredictable winds with it still being cold.

This is an interesting thread. All good points. Game plan of each team will determine if this is a blowout Packer win or a 3-7 point win.
Who wins the time of possession in this game and the health of the Giants to me are the key factors. (The first game they played doesn't mean too much; long ago and this isthe NFL)

Again, my prediction...........

NYG 13
GB 26

Expecting good games from......

RB Grant
CB Woodson
DE Kampman
SS Bigby

Fwiw, I'm anticipating a very so-so game from Favre...............something like 18-34 179 yds 1 TD 2 INT

On the Giants side of the ball......R.W. McQuarters will make a couple outstanding plays, as he has always played well vs. the Packers.

In closing, I think the difference in this game(as well as what will be in the SuperBowl), is the better defense will prevail.........and I think there is no better defense in the entire NFL(when 100% healthy), then that of the Green Bay Packers.

I think one must look at the Green Bay record at Lambeau Field and the Packers success there is legendary over the years. You mention that the Giants play in a cold weather climate and stadium but what you didn't mention is that they have sucked there all year long as their 3-5 home record indicates. Their road record has been great it is true but you will also note that their 2 road victories in the playoffs were in Tampa and Dallas. Anyone that watched the Packers play last week in the snow knows how well Green Bay and Favre play in cold weather ! Favre must be part polar bear ! How well will the Giants play in Lambeau this Sunday is something We will just have to find out but there is no question that Green Bay will not be intimitated by the weather. GL I'm still trying to decide whether or how to cover my 30/1 Packer NFC wager.
