Online poker playing at work?

I am in management for a small/medium sized company. I am quite sure there is no monitoring of internet activity going on at this point in time. I regularly visit "no-no" sites like the RX, donbest, bodog, etc. I have placed wagers several times on bodog (on day games) w/out any problem.

My question is, is there any way IT could tell I was actually playing poker during work hours? I have the software downloaded on my company laptop (which doubles as my personal laptop). My boss knows I play online poker on this computer at home, and doesn't have a problem with it. But if I were to play at work, could they tell definitively I had played during work hours? Or would it just say I "visited" the site? Would they have any time info on my actual wagers?

Your not giving us nearly enough info to answer the question.

They either have spyware or they dont.

If they do the answer to your question is yes.
If they dont the answer is no.

They will probably get the idea that you are when you start screaming about some bad beat or some tool going all in with 8-10

Harry this is very difficult to do.

Even if you dont have to answer to people and they have to answer to you its hard.

I have people walking in and you can not just pause a poker game. Many times I was down to 3 or 4 guys left in a sng and an employee needed help and you have to tell them hold on. It makes it hard to focus.

Trust me they can and will find out IF they're looking for it.

and Timetopay is right.. I had to alt tab a few times in the middle of a good sit and go because the fucking owner or VP stopped by my office. Just fuck it and wait till you're home.

After a few close calls getting caught at poker I started using the time to research my football plays.

If you really want to do it however install (if IT lets you fuck around that is) gotomypc.com and play the poker remotely from your home/anywhere computer.

Make sure to check your workstation/computer for monitoring software (pcanywhere etc... key loggers)... it's unlikely but if they're on to you it's possible.

Make sure you can collect unemployment if they fire you over it, then play as much as you want

Agreed, I would have to play cash games (which I do play pretty frequently). I could click the sit out button or close out the software in a pinch.

Holy hell I am bored today.

I was fairly sure at one point my company was not..but they did and they tracked a ton of people doing all kinds of crap then made it like a public execution of some of the biggest offenders ...some where fired as an example to the rest of us to take heed..

if you have an IT department they KNOW for sure 100% where you go at anytime and can find out where your going on the net if your networked they know your computer IP I would not do it...but good luck

Just get an office game going and let the boss win for a month or two.

Hook line and sinker.

Bored at work does suck every minute seems like an hour.

Unfortunatly I don;t have that problem as it's go like hell from the time I wake up as i don't go home till my trucks empty.
