The Four Most Boring teams in Sports...

Comic article written by Fox Sports.com writer Daniel Clowes..

Miami Heat - Pat Riley! Shaq! D-Wade! Maybe, but there's also ... Mark Blount? Ricky Davis? 35-year-old Shaq? Most of all, though, it rankles that TV execs have somehow concluded that the Heat are (is?) an interesting team. So despite the fact that the very sight of the Heat sends unsuspecting viewers scrambling for their remotes as though they were windblown Benjamins, we're still subjected to them. Clang.

Kansas City Chiefs - Look closely: Brodie Croyle looks like a young Montgomery Burns. And that's the most interesting thing I can say about the Chiefs. Hey, I dig Herm Edwards, but his team is about as compelling as a YouTube of Mitt Romney's morning ablutions.

Notre Dame Football - I yield to no one in my loathing of Notre Dame, but schadenfreude has its limits. After all, a man can take only so many one-yard counter treys, coverage sacks, groundball forward passes, and contrived drama against the service academies. I'd watch an ND game only if the other choices were the "Lipstick Jungle" pilot or my own death. So enjoy your lamewad boondoggle, NBC.

Princeton Basketball - Some see this band of pests as a delightful, fundamentally sound throwback to a simpler time. All that's missing is the peach basket! Other, more sensible folk see them as crashing bores who see treat the shot clock as a dare rather than an upper limit. Jeebus, they'd make Jerry Sloan take a hostage.

FWIW - The Miami Heat get my vote - man, Shaq at 35 is not a pretty sight...wil..:ohno:

For some reason the Padres are boring to me. Lot to do with that ballpark I think.

Pittsburgh Pirates if they left the MLB would anyone really care? They live in mediocrity and don't look to be getting out anytime soon.

Pirates have to be my choice too. In fact there are a few very boring teams in the NL but watching Pitt play is the most painful for me.

.254 team BA (27th)
32nd in slugging
25th in HRs
29th in runs
one regular (Randy f*ing Winn) hitting over .276, next season Wynn will hit 3rd, Benji Molina 4th and Ray Durham 5th.
Zito, Lowry, Cain, Vinnie Chulk, Hennessey, Kevin Correia, Kline, Pat Misch, Scott Munter, Jonathan Sanchez, Jack Taschner, Tyler Walker, Brian Wilson.
Other than Lincecum, is there one player at all that would prevent you from changing the channel?

I also find the A's horrendous to watch too, and they got worse trading Swisher and Haren. Watching their games on TV with that ugly 2/3 empty stadium doesn't help either.

49ers and Raiders are unwatchable as well. The Bay Area may have the four most unwatchable teams.

I like what I saw out of Rajai Davis last season. What's the word on his status this year?

That Brian Sabean has done wonders via free agency.

haha- he's one person, I never understood why his bad signees are not criticized more.

4th or 5th outfielder. They still have Roberts and Wynn and signed Aaron Rowand, basically he and Sheirholtz are fighting for 4th spot. Sheirholtz grew up ten minutes from my house and I ran into his father about 2 weeks ago, that was the low down he gave.

he has caught some heat of late, for free agency signings (Zito, Roberts, Armando, amongst others), resignings (Wynn, Durham, etc.) and non-signings (Vlad) as well as horrendous farm system they have (they haven't produced an offensive regular since like Robbie Thompson or someone like that). He got a free pass for a while b/c the prevailing wisdom was that he was hamstrung by Bonds (he was McGowan's guy, not Sabean), his contract and the need to win immediately, but that ended and now the talk radio shows hammer him pretty well.

Thats good to hear...as I have yet to see him take heat on the national shows (ie: Baseball Tonight)...at least from what I've seen.

I don't think I have seen it nationally either. If they are really bad next year you may start to see it, but they are probably flying under the radar given they are so bad.

Pirates aren't really that bad. Their 16 year losing streak(tying the Phillies all-time record this season) has to have an asterisk on it now as no P
irate was in the Mitchell Report. How are my boys expected to compete against all these mutants if management is too cheap to provide the Bucs the proper drugs?!
:lolBIG:

I have to laugh as I am too old to cry. But at least I'm old enough to remember a couple WC teams. Could be a Cubs fan.
