Art Monk has been messed over on this hall of fame thing. Maybe i got blinders on cause i live in the DMV area. But im not a skins fan but i just remember when i was young he was the man. When he left the game he was in top 5 in every category in receiving. Can some of u guys explain why he isnt in yet.

Also i would like to see Ark Monk and Darryl Green to go in this year at the same time.

I think he will get in, but he never was a dominating player. His season-best TD's was only 8. Very hard for possession receivers to get in. Only a three-time Pro Bowler doesn't help his cause either. I really thought Cris Carter was a better player.

Remember one thing carter played in a spread offense and pass oriented team. Art played for Joe Gibbs who was all about to power running game. Also Art didnt have great people throwing him the ball either.

Joe Theismann was a great qb for Washington. Redskins were at the top the league in scoring in the early 80's. Carter had eight years with more td's than Monk's best. They both played 16 seasons with Carter having twice as many td's as Monk.

How many years did joe play. And yes they had the highest scoring offenses but running backs was scoring all the points. Again joe gibbs, hogs and power run. That was the skins back in the day.

Well, Theismann's two best years were 83-84. He threw for 53 TD's those two years. Monk caught 12 of them. Don't be fooled by the power football myth. Yes, he used it when they were ahead. No Gibbs didn't ram the ball down everyone's throat when they were losing/tied.

Monk was a class act on and off the field. Deserves to be in, just not over Carter.

I would have Irvin in that top-5.

Why to go Mr. Monk. You totally deserve all of it. One of the few Redskins I just couldnt bring myself to boo or hate. Class Act and played the game right.
