**NOTE TO UFC BETTORS: SATURDAYS SHOW HAS A 10AM PST POST TIME FOR THE UNDERCARD DUE TO THE FIGHTS BEING IN ENGLAND. MAIN CARDS FIGHTS GO OFF THE BOARD AT 12PM PST. GOOD LUCK**

Heres my ticket for Saturday 1/19/08

Gouveia -130 ****
I think he will dominate this fight everywhere. Lambert is a part time fighter who's only advantage in this fight is strength. At this level you better bring a little bit more to the table.

Hardonk -270 ** Number was off from what I have. Hardonk should dominate this fight standing and get the W. I really wouldn't play this fight at the current numbers unless you were looking to parlay it.

Davis -300 *** Davis has really started to come in to his own and Cris had him under priced at the opener. Number has moved a bit to far again. May be worth a look on a parlay.

Penn -260 **** Penn will dominate this fight standing before the fight eventually hits the floor and he gets a submission victory sometime in the early part of the fight.

Very chalky show and the only dog I really think is live would be Lee who is fight Sakara. Still don't feel comfortable playing the fight though.

Boxing 1/19/08 MSG

Roy Jones Jr. By Decision +235 *** I don't think RJJ has the pop anymore to KO Trinidad and this fight will hit the cards.

Which is why...

Trinidad By Decision +900 *** Also makes sense.

If you can find the Draw 30/1 like it has been some places then it may be a decent bet as both fighters are HBO guys who may be looking to get another fight.

Last time I bet UFC I laid a big amount against some old guy who was coming back against some other guy who "coundnt lose".

The old guy was very good in his time, what was that match?

Couture/Gonzaga or Couture/Sylvia is the fight you are talking about. I thought Sylvia was a very nice bet to be honest. Figured his size would give Couture all sorts of issues on the takedown and Sylvia would control on the feet. Put yea, apparently he was hurt coming in and got dominated.

Trinidad is way over the hill and has little chance against Jones. He is just in it for the $$. Only possible wager I might bet is Jones by KO etc which is even Money wager. Trinidad hasn't won a round in about 4 years now !

I take it you didn't see Jones last fight against that bum Hanshaw. Jones is done and there are a lot of question marks surrounding him fighting down at 170. I will be shocked to see RJJ KO him.

Trinidad is like Tyson... So out of shape and over the hill that it is not a matter of knocking him out... He will simply quit.

Per Eklund (Pictures) vs. Sam Stout (Pictures)
Round 1
An uneventful opening frame gets us started in Newcastle. Eklund looked for the takedown throughout the frame, with stout stuffing them all. Eklund landed a knee to the mid-section against the fencing before Stout was able to trip the Swede to the canvas. From the top position, Stout dropped some elbows down on Eklund's face. Sherdog.com sees the round 10-9 for Stout.

Round 2
More of the same in the second. Stout showed great takedown defense as Eklund struggled to get close to the Canadian kickboxer. Stout, again took the top position in a scramble, where he landed an elbow. Eklund attempted an armbar from the bottom, but Stout had none of it and stood up. At the end of the round, the English crowd showered the cage with boos after 10 boring minutes in the Octagon. 10-9 for Stout.

Round 3
Different round, same story. Even though nothing solid connected, Stout looked crisp with his striking and continued to defend the takedown. A pretty disappointing performance by both fighters. Sherdog.com sees the bout 30-27 for Stout, and two judges agree, awarding all three frames to Stout. A lone judge saw it 29-27 for the Canadian.

James Lee vs. Alessio Sakara (Pictures)
Round 1
Lee was successful with a takedown in the opening seconds but Sakara was able to hop back to his feet. Lee again scored a takedown. Sakara stood up, and with Lee holding on to a fight, Sakara delivered right hands to the head, which prompted referee Dan Miragliotta to step in at the 1:30 mark. Sakara is back in the win column with a technical knockout. It looked as if Lee was complaining of injury after the contest, possibly to his back.

Gouveia -130 **** I think he will dominate this fight everywhere. Lambert is a part time fighter who's only advantage in this fight is strength. At this level you better bring a little bit more to the table.

Wilson Gouveia (Pictures) vs. Jason Lambert (Pictures)
Round 1
Lambert used his feet to cut off the cage as Gouveia circled the Octagon. Lambert landed a stiff low kick and followed with a successful single-leg takedown. Gouveia went directly to a guillotine, but Lambert escaped and pressed his opponent against the fencing. From Gouveia's butterfly guard, Lambert landed heavy left hands and elbows. Gouveia pulled guard with another guillotine, with Lambert defending it well. Gouveia went high with his hips and locked up a triangle-choke. Lambert stood up and slammed Gouveia to the canvas. Gouveia transitioned into an omaplata, but Lambert escaped and went back to the guard. The round ends with Lambert striking the head with his right hand.

Mike Fridley score: 10-9 Lambert
TJ De Santis score: 10-9 Lambert

Round 2
Lambert stalked Gouveia against the cage. During a striking exchange against the cage, Gouveia landed a left hook that knocked Lambert out cold. After Wilson pounced with follow-up shots, referee Herb Dean stepped in at the 0:37 mark of round two.

Hardonk -270 ** Number was off from what I have. Hardonk should dominate this fight standing and get the W. I really wouldn't play this fight at the current numbers unless you were looking to parlay it.

Antoni Hardonk (Pictures) vs. Colin Robinson
Round 1
The evening's final preliminary bout ends quickly in just 17 seconds. Hardonk came out with two hard knees to the body, two leg kicks, two jabs and the fight is called. The second stiff jab dazed Robinson, forcing referee Mario Yamasaki to halt the contest.

Marcus Davis (Pictures) vs. Jess Liaudin (Pictures)
Round 1
Liaudin attacked the inside of Davis' right leg with low kicks throughout the first minute of action. Davis stepped in and crushed the Frenchman with a left hook that knocked him stiff. Referee Mario Yamasaki stepped in to save Liaudin at the 1:04 mark.

In my opinion the best Heavyweight fighter in the world is on his way to the Octagon right now. Gonzaga really chose some great entrance music.

Wow I was off on that one...

At least I kept my money in my pocket.

I hate laying the big chalk on guys who are coming off of loses and it has kept me out of trouble with Grove and Gonzaga tonight.

Thanks for the updates. I just put some last minute money on Penn in a parlay. Was going to pick Grove instead, but glad I passed on that one.

Hows BJ looking?

A man versus a boy...

Stevenson is a tough kid but Penn is the best fighter in the world.

Penn looked excellent on his feet and had some great positions on the ground.
