Well maybe it is! With a game of this importance, shouldn't it be played under the best conditions? After all, that's what they do with the Super Bowl.

So you're going to say, "What about the fans of those teams that rooted them on all year long?" Same thing that happens to those fans when their team goes to the Super Bowl. They can either take a trip to a nice warm weather climate like Miami, San Diego or L.A., or scalp their tickets on Stub Hub and use the money to get a 4 star hotel room with an excellent restaurant and spa. Hell, if they get enough money, they could book a flight to Vegas and watch the game there, where it's called the BIG GAME rather than the Super Bowl.

I'd hate to see any on the games tomorrow be decided one way or the other because of the cold or inclement weather.

I think if the NFL tried it for a few years, we would see the playoffs being held in a warm weather climate for the Championship games permanently.

I'd say neg.

Teams earn the right to host those games, and it's an advantage for them being at home. I'm sure some players would prefer not to have weather be a factor in the game, but that's just football. Both teams have to play in it.

-2 F and -15 wind chill in Green Bay tomorrow for gametime. I think they all would rather be indoors or south, fans included.

Both teams have to play in the same conditions. If the Chargers or Giants have a problem with that they shouldn't have lost all those games during the regular season

If the Packers or Patriots lose because of the weather they should have built domes

So if the weather causes a team to lose they have to blame themselves, not the cold, wind or snow

Further, the Super Bowl champion should be one that can win no matter the conditions, summber heat the first weeks, winter snow at the end, finally the Super Bowl in mild climate

Those aluminum bleachers at Lambeau figure to be cold as hell. People will have to spend $5 for those seat warmers whether they like it or not. I've been there a couple of times, very uncomfortable seating at Lambeau.

I hate that Superbowl is played
in a warm weather site. I realize it has to be but wouldn't it be great if the Superbowl could be played at Lambeau in horrible conditions.

I used to love going to Cadlestick park for football as we all know the wind in that park can be narly.

Throw in heavy rain and we got football weather.

Leave the women and children at home!

The Superbowl is predetermined cause the league needs a whole city of hotel rooms, media, etc...

Really it should just be played at the best record's site, but that will never happen due to logistics now...

Hope the playoffs never leave the cold.

It would be cool if the Super Bowl was actually a 3 game series where the team with the best record had home field advantage. Then each team gets at least one game in front of their fans.

Then why do they play the SB in a warm weather climate?

I like the idea of having the playoffs in warm weather climates for the same reason they hold the Super Bowl in warm weather. But I understand how home field cold weather should be a deciding factor in getting to the SB.

That damn ice bowl 40 years ago cemented in many people's minds that it can be a great game regardless of weather.

So southern teams might have a chance to have home field in the playoffs, but northern teams wouldn't? Yeah, that's fair.

If playoff games were played at a neutral site, we would be dealing with a lot more meaningless games at the end of the year since no one would be playing for home field advantage.
