Any guys know refrigerators ?

I have one of those mini- fridges like you'd have in a college dorm or maybe a motel room. This is in my upstairs bedroom/office. I have a real fridge downstairs.

I'm lazy, so I have this fridge in the bedroom so I don't have to go downstairs to get a cold drink. I put just beverages in it like water,Powerade,pop,beer,etc.

It freezes everything after about 24 hours. There is a control to adjust temp from 1-7. It freezes shit no matter what number I put it on.

Any ideas ?

The thermostat is stuck obviously....
some reasons are maybe the bulb is not where it is supposed to be inside the box...if that bulb was attached to say the back of the freezer coil and is now hanging inside the ref it will never get cold enough to shut off..
The bulb could be broke completly off , which would do the same thing. it can sense temps therfore it will never cut off.....
#3---its a cheap chinese made t-stat that was lucky to have ever worked at all and now needs replacing....

Gimme a model number and manufacturer and ill find you 1...

Magic Chef is now Maytag so u just need to find a maytag parts dealer in ur town...there is 1 here and ill ck on it for u tomorrow and get u a price..im thinking wholsale it might be 20 bucks or less.....if u can get it for that locally go ahead and get it if not ill buy it here and ship it to you....

that won't be needed ! At 8 years old the fridge can exist as is, or I can look for the part locally myself.

I can probably get a similar unit free on CL anyway. I don't think it's even worth fucking with, just unplug it once awhile to thaw shit, its old but compressor works.

I have an old mini freezer, ( in the basement) commercial quality thing, had it for 10 years, must have been 30 years old when I bought it, that thing freezes to like 30 below zero, I swear that thing must be from the 1960's, never a hiccup from it, that thing will last forever !

I don't think I ever bragged about the mini-fridge in my bedroom, but the basement freezer is the NUTZ ! I don't even know who made it, That thing is easily over 30 years old !
