OT: For people who live up North, do you still see people wearing fur coats anymore?

I almost never see one on TV anymore. In Texas, if it even gets to 40 degrees, some ladies will pull out their best furs. Is it considered taboo to wear fur anymore?

By the way, it is real cold for Texas right now. Coldest spell of the season
