Because he said he saw Tynes and the Field Goal unit halfway onto the field and figured it was a sign that they were gonna do it!

They went on the field without being told to go, hows that!

I bet you had GB taken a Timeout Coughlin woulda thought it over and gone for it instead:drink:

That is complete B.S. He may have said it but no way it's true.

Listen i have no idea if its true or not, but Tynes said on a radio interview that he just started running onto the field, and later at a press conference Coughlin said that he was looking for a "sign" to kick the FG and he saw Tynes and Co on the field so he said what the hell

I believe this was the truth for what its worth and i was screaming NOT to let Tynes fuck up the game again and give GB the ball at the 40

Exactly, he wouldnt make that shit up

Had Tynes missed the kick and the Packers won the game, the decision to kick and not go for it would have been questioned for years

I believe this team is a team of destiny!

I thought it was an absolute no-brainer to try the FG. Distance wasn't really a problem. You have to believe that the kicker is going to embrace the opportunity to redeem himself. However, if I were GB, I absolutely use a timeout before the kick. Not only do you freeze the kicker and make him think about it, but you freeze the snapper (who was having issues) as well.

I remember a few years ago former NY Giant long-snapper Steve DeOssie told a story about the kick that put the Giants into the (1990-91) Super Bowl. Trailing 13-12 to the 49ers, the Giants setup for a game winning 42 yarder in the final seconds. The 49ers called timeout. DeOssie says to kicker Matt Bahr "Can you believe they're trying to freeze you". To which Bahr replied "They're not trying to freeze me, they're trying to freeze you".

I just looked at it like. He's got to make one of these. Get out there and drill it.

wasn't his season long before that kick 48 yards?

Plus he had missed from 38 and 37 earlier in the game, if I remember correctly.

Also, no opponent had ever kicked a FG in the post season over 40 yds in the history of Lambeau Field.

I'm really not a fan of that '3rd Tyne's a charm!' Bullshit.

Like you say no post season FG at Lambeau over 40, miss 1

Bad snap, miss 2

But that FG to win it. You keep at it enough, you will eventually bang one.

The man's a professional kicker. He deserves to get his ass chewed after missing two easy ones in a row. If that's going to ice him, he ought to be stacking produce at the Winn Dixie.

From my view point it seemed as though Coughlin was giving the kicker encouragement when he was coming to the sideline with his head down.

LMAO! Kinda limiting your audience there, use A&P or Safeway.

There are no A&P's in California.

The kicker said he was going on the field no matter what and went on his own without Coughlin telling him to go out there.

Second, his head wasn't down when he missed that first one, and Coughlin was reaming his ass out. He didn';t do anything but look disgusted after he missed the second one.
