I saw the job mentioned in another thread, and I must admit that would be a awesome job to have if it paid relatively well.

Does anyone know any rough estimates and what is required for the various positions in the sports books?

Entry level jobs start at minimum wage plus free unlimited horse touts from the degenerates.

$10-$12 an hour. You really have to become a dealer if you want to make any money working in a Vegas casino. Honestly, living in Vegas is not at all like being on vacation in Vegas. Best to focus your efforts on a high-paying career and going to Vegas twice a year.

They don't make good money at all. They are just a glorified 7-11 clerk.

Sportsbook clerks make very little in the way of wages or tips.
Supervisors make a bit more.
The bosses aren't exactly bringing in huge figures.

Illini is closer to correct than most.

My bartender and poker dealing friends cleared more than I did running things.

Depends on your definition of good money I guess.

I ran one of the books and poker rooms in a mid-major hotel on the Strip for a short while. Pretty common knowledge on here and I'm sure others can share. The past is the past.

Well when I go back to Vegas in March, just might have to take him out to Lunch.......

Maybe he knows some of my Old Friends from the "Old Skybook " Days
a few of them worked in Vegas before they worked there...

Betall,
If I'm in town certainly would be glad to sit down and have a few beers. May leave the first week of March Madness.
