My friend retired from the post office a few years ago. He just mentioned to me after his return from Vegas that hs is thinking of moving there.
We started talking about some of the advantages of living in Vegas and I mentioned no income tax or inheritance tax. He seems to feel that he would still have to pay state taxes in California even if he moved because that is where he originaly earned his income.
I said since it was a Federal pension that he would owe the taxes only to the state where he moved, and since Nevada doesn't have an income tax, he would be free from any taxes in that state.
Anyone know the real answer?
