Alright, so it's the first day of class and I already have homework. It's on chapter 1 of this book and every other question I've easily answered but this one is confusing me for some reason.

The question, more-or-less, is "What are two ways that personal freedom is necessary to gaining political freedom?". I can't find a single paragraph in this book where he talks about the necessity of personal freedom as he is talking almost entirely about economic freedom and it's relation to political freedom.

Any help here? Am I to assume that economic freedom is what the professor is talking about when he mentions "personal freedom"?

My head hurts from reading this chapter over and over and not finding a simple answer to this f-ing question.

Thanks in advance.

I thought about something similar but wasn't 100% convinced that freedom of speech wasn't more of a political AND personal freedom. Which just confused me even more... :ohno:

Thanks for the last two responses though fellas. I'll get this sucker figured out eventually. I just wish the chapter outlined this answer like it did for all the other questions.
