Apple Posts Ginormous Profits
Posted by jrmylmb - Wednesday, January 23, 2008 2:33 PM

Apple just posted their quarterly earnings and the profit, she is massive. They sold 2.3 million iPhones, 22 million iPods, and 2.3 million Macs which puts them at $1.58 billion in profit once you subtract all the costs from the $9.6 billion in total revenue.

HOO LAWDY, Dat some scratch! In the continuum of shabby to not too shabby, that puts them in a pretty good spot.

Yes, but they charge you $2500 for the equivalent of a PC that you can get for $900. I prefer Macs but I'm not going to pay $1600 more just because it's a Mac.

WOW! That is alot of money! I am VERY HAPPY with my 3 household PC's that I bought from Best Buy for around $400 each including monitor and free printer for each one!

Best computers that I have ever owned as a matter of fact. But these may not work for guys around here who are into porn 16 hours a day.

But for 90% of the USA, my $400 computers are WAYYY more than they will ever need. Or at least need within a 2 year period. Think about it, ou will buy a new computer in 2-3 years anyway

You can try to boot to the install / recovery disk. Put the disk in the drive and press the c key during boot. This should boot you up through the optical disk. Look for an app called disk utility or it may be labeled disk first aid (I don't have my disks handy at the moment) on the disk. Running first aid will repair permissions on your drive.

If this doesn't work you may want to try resetting the PRAM. Hold down command-option-P-R during boot.

When you get the spinning wheel it is indicating that your available memory is very low and it takes a long time to load all the information you have saved to memory. You need to add RAM to your MAC particularly if you are using it for music, photos, movies, etc. We went from 5MB to 2GB of RAM and haven't seen the wheel ever again.
