You guys are such a great source of info. I was wondering if the wager limits on the strip were higher than downtown for a guy who plays college basketball sides?
The highest wager I could get downtown was a dime at any of the downtown casinos. I will be staying at the MGM Grand this time. By the way the trip is still very reasonable price wise..a little higher than last trip, but one way flights both ways which makes up for the higher costs. I would highly recommend Priceline when booking packages.

Hey what happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas.
Priceline is great. I used to use funjet also. Back in 1999 I could get round trip from Houston for 5-7 day airfare and hotel for like $212 person. I think they are up to around $439 when I checked last year. bet online Vegas books are to tight on NCAA basketball and NBA. A dime might be hard to lay on a total in vegas now a days.

if you are staying on the strip they will probably look at this if you want more than a dime

are you staying at the hotel ( yes is a big plus)

do you play other games in the casino and lose at them? yes would be a plus. betting big and losing big would be a big plus.

is the game you want to bet a big game like say Gonzaga at Memphis where they expect action or are you betting Tennesseee State versus Wofford where they wont get much other action probably and you will scare the shit out of them by wanting it big

so the answer to your question is, it depends

you can always bet, then walk next door and bet again

I could understand a limit on a Sun Belt game, but a Big Ten game (Michigan @ Northwestern specifically) shouldn't have a dime limit when a guest of the hotel is placing the bet. I ended up getting six dime bets down with six different casinos, got to the seventh casino (California) and the game tipped.

I thought this was Vegas. I am no high roller by any means, but when I find a game I like it would have been nice to hammer it. I would have liked to bet 11,000 on this game and could not. By the way, I told them my pick. He said: How much; I told him 11,000 to win 10,000. All people that worked there taking bets stopped what they were doing and looked at me. Manager was called and came out and was told my bet size. He looked at me and said show me the money. I pulled out the money and started counting it out. I didn't get too far when he said it would be a dime limit.

Come on Vegas, grow some manhood on these major conference games. I was under the impression bigger bets would easily be taken and I never got one above a dime taken.

If you want to fly under the radar and be able to get wagers down again and again without any hassels the best way to do it is spread the money over several casinos.

If you were able to find a book that would allow you to put $11,000 down on one game, and that might be a big if, its doubtfull you would get it down again if you beat them.

Take your cash, walk up one side of the strip and down the other making smaller bets at each one. Its a little time consuming but grab a drink ticket with each bet, grab a beer and on to the next. By the end you have all your bets down, got a little exercise, and probably have a nice little buzz going.

You definitely dont want to burn yourself out at one place.

I agree...spreading it out is much less obvious....

...if you are going a dime at 10 casinos....that is kind of a pain....especially when you have to collect winnings
