I don't think so. I saw No Country for old Men and Juno....NCFOM is way better and I think is the deserved favorite. Haven't seen the others though so my opinion is a bit uninformed.

Betting on awards has been markedly a bit of a downer since last year's Grammys where few books had any 'long-term' odds but only some books seemingly put up some lines at the last possible moment.

The Greek used to have such an appetite in setting lines but I suppose getting repeatedly nailed is no fun. Pinnacle have lines for Magic The Gathering but nothing on film awards!

Bodog had some very soft lines the other day but some sharp eyed bettors hammered into them.

There Will Be Blood is certainly a live dog to win Best Picture. If it hadn't been for the disqualification in Best Score it would have had the most nominations.

We'll see what the guilds say in the upcoming weeks though.

Fyi.

along with the hispanic guy from No Country For Old men getting best supporting actor.<!-- / message -->

You are referring to Javier Bardem who is from Spain and the first Spanish born actor to ever be nominated for an Oscar as an actor (I can't be sure about other categories like Art Direction or Cinematography etc.)...He is a huge favorite to win it.

No Country For Old Men (-165 at Bookmaker) is going to be difficult to beat for best picture especially if the Coen brothers (-165 at Bookmaker) win best director and Javier Bardem (-1000 at Bookmaker, a cinch) wins best supporting actor.

NCFOM is favored but not by a whole lot.."There will be Blood" has a shot..

From Bookmaker.com...

BEST PICTURE
18676 ATONEMENT +500
18677 JUNO +1300
18678 MICHAEL CLAYTON +2000
18679 NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN -165
18680 THERE WILL BE BLOOD +200

I think ATONEMENT +500
has some value. It did win the Golden Globe.

Going to be interesting to see these lines change.

The greatest value for an upset(Julie Christie) in the best actress category is the young girl in the picture "Juno."

Most likely a copy cat book will leave their markets up during the Screen Actors Guild awards tommorow. The SAG is a very good guage for Oscar results.
