And if so, did anybody bet on it? I was in my early teens so I wouldn't know. I do know that He Hate Me kicked some serious ass though, as well as MVP Tommy Maddox! :dancefool

Haha I'd think it'd be hard coming out with the lines in the 1st couple weeks since most everyone was clueless.

He Hate Me defined the league. This could've been good. I loved the idea of being paid for performance in pro sports.

i missed the xfl.i won money betting total.if a team went under in the first half they went under in the second half.if they went overr in the first half they went over in the second.tommy maddox resercted his carer with the la extreme team and you cant forget about he hate, played in the nfl with the panthers.49ers had a kicker named jose cortez.the league was meant to fail because of the media like espn making fun of vince mcmahon, claiming the leaguae was a joke.i liked when the players where fighting for the ball instead of flipping a coin.i hope mark cubans league last a long time .

Tommy Maddux..

I remember when Tommy Maddox was playing for The Los Angeles Xtreme of the XFL. Maddox became the starting quarterback for LA in week 1 of the league's inaugral season and he never missed a game in the league's short history..

Maddox was the top player in the XFL. He was the only quarterback in the league to start all 10 regular season games, Maddux led the XFL in passing yards, touchdowns, plus he rushed for 2 TD on the ground.

Tommy led the Xtreme to the Million Dollar Game, also jokingly known as the "Big Game At The End."

The Xtreme whipped the San Francisco Demons by a score of 38-6, Maddox was named the first and only XFL MVP in 2001.

The league closed shortly after that game.

The XFL ranked #3 on TV Guide's list of the worst TV shows of all time in July 2002, as well as #2 on ESPN's list of biggest flops in sports, behind Ryan Leaf.

In 1984 Tulsa had a team for one season in the USFL. Very few fans attended the games(less than 15,000) and the inside information available was unbelievable. The lines would move 3-7 pts. Doug Williams was the QB, when he felt like playing. :nohead:

the league was meant to fail because of the media like espn making fun of vince mcmahon, claiming the leaguae was a joke.

Most all print coverage and most broadcast media gave the XFL a chance for the first week or so. Then they realized absolutely no one was watching and stopped covering it. The league was destined to fail because for virtually any sports league to be successful in needs to start at the bottom and build itself up

If I remember correctly, the Rock was at Sam Boyd for that first game. That was back when he was at the height of his popularity. I think he had something to do with the coin toss or scrum, whatever they called it.
