I know he cannot be elected President since he was born outside of US ( Austria ?).

I assume he's a Democrat ?

Can he be VP, and then assume the Presidancy if the President died ?

I don't know the letter of the law, but I always thought that the VP had to be born in the US as well, maybe that's just because VP candidates are almost always presidential candidates that lose the primary and you can't be a presidential candidate if you aren't born in the US?

Did Cheney run for El Presidente ?

I'm not so sure about every VP being a former candidate ?

If he is eligible it would be brilliant to pick him as a Vice Presidential candidate.
People are generally stupid and would vote for "The Terminator" because they saw him in the movies and liked him, not because of the issues.

You're right, Cheney never ran for President.

I looked up the original question and found this: The Twelfth Amendment says "no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."
