I am looking to purchase a new driver and was wondering what you guys would suggest. I have been using a taylormade r5 and love it but I need to upgrade. So lets hear the recommendations and why you recommend the club. Thanks.

I have a Nike Ignite, I'd trade it for a sleeve of golf balls.

"but I need to upgrade"...why do you "need" to upgrade? I have a $20 driver from K-mart and I bet I can beat you even at my advanced age! In other words, it's not the club, but rather the clubee.

The Taylormade Burner is an excellent driver. Several of their staff players have switched over to it from the Quad series.

I will play you even up with my 30 dollar driver from Price-Mart....us low life hacks would still be hacks with Tiger's clubs....D.Stewart knows what's up...just waiting for Belleyputter or G. Money to confirm...:drink:

actually BTJ is on the right track here.

The driver is pretty important, but I'd put more stock in the shaft....

IMO, keys to tee shots:

1) get the swing down
2) shaft to match your swing type (not just flex, but length and all that other crap like kick points, etc.)
3) actual driver head
4) Ball

I am getting a new driver because the one I have now was given to me and it has a regular flex shaft and I need a stiff flex. Anymore questions? I will take you up on your offer also.

If you "love it", and need a stiff shaft, get a new shaft put in.

Nope...just the first one..."Why do you need to upgrade?" Apparently, from your answer, you don't "need" to upgrade but instead just want a stiff shaft(by the way, I recommend Viagra for that). A stiff shaft is not an upgrade for most golfers. Let me know when and if you're ever in Vegas and I'll set up the match!

You've got to be kidding!

Yeah......it's usually better if you know what you are doing.

I can't tell you how many guys I've played with who say they can't hit this driver. I say let me hit it and I proceed to hit a hook or a slice or straight down the middle with it. Again, it's not the club.
