Recently I had slight misunderstanding with a sponsor here. First off let me say I was not payed to say this. Anyway, I contacted Wilheim and told him what it was about. He said he would look into it and did so very quickly and with professionalism. The situation was resolved to my satisfaction. The point being if you have need of any assistance with the sponsors, he will help to the best of his ability. I found out first hand and was impressed. Thanks Wilheim!

Another thing to keep in mind-Although we may not have as much pull with non-advertisers as we do with advertisers, we have also had a fair amount of success helping people resolve problems with all offshore books

(But there are the occasional situations where we're as helpless as you are when it comes to some issues\books).

That is true and unfortunate. A good example is poker website disputes. Most of them could careless if a moderator at TheRx.com tries to contact them or not.

I will try to help with non-sponsors but in fairness a player has a better chance dealing with someone from a website where the book involved in the dispute advertises than they do by going to a forum where that book is not a sponsor. Only common sense..

wil..

PS. FWIW - Franks dispute was for more money than Beantown Jim's (not that it really matters)...Sometimes the amount is not relevant, while other times it is.

I recently helped a player recover a huge amount of money that quite frankly because of it's size caused me to be apprehensive that a disappointing result would occur but it did not..

A lot of disputes do not hit the forums and I am glad to see it that way because many of them are simple human errors or unavoidable in one way or another.

Traditionally the Rx has done a better job at getting disputes resolved than any other forum and it isn't even close.

Wil and TTinCO helped me out before. They responded fast and took care of the problem quickly. It's good to know these guys are around and they have contacts in high places.

Will helped me out a few times with books that are sponsors here. He is very helpful and responsive to requests for assistance. If anyone here has a problem with a book email him before posting he will do everything he can to help you out

True, it is humorous. Amazing how a can of worms opens up so easy. Peace out!

I can also back up the original posters feelings.

I had a dispute with a poker room which is not even a sponsor here...and Wilheim assisted me the best he could. He never once blinked an eye about helping and saw it through to the end.

He handled it with great professionalism, followed up constantly, and I can not say enough positive things about it.

Fyi.

I moved all of the Beantown Jim vs Cascade posts to the Rubber Room.

Franks, sorry your thread was higjacked and again thanks for the kind words.

In all honesty I never ask for these kind of threads from players I help, I never accept rewards of any kind, especially money to help a poster but do appreciate an occasional thank you thread like this.

Going on three years now as head moderator - I have worked over one hundred successfully resolved disputes. I have received two gifts - one poster sent me 2 dozen golf balls after I saved him around $10,000 and another poster paid a popular restaurant close to where I lived for a gift certificate in my name (dinner for 6 valued at $200) when I was living in Mass in 2005 after I helped him recoup $32,000 from a horse wagering dispute.

That is it..

The golf balls I gave to a kids program for beginners golf in Mass and the dinner I shared with my only sister along with her children (my nephews and their kids) on Christmas of 2005.

wil..
