Haha, even in the simulation we can argue about the ref's calls.

Moss did NOT look like he got both feet in the endzone on that first TD the Giant's challenged and lost!

I agree Drew, and that gave them momentum and affected the outcome. The ref's are on the take for sure

TTP - I don't know of a soul living today who disputes that the 85 Bears were a much much better football team than the 85 Patriots. I don't see your point. The Pats from 1985 are earily similar to the 2007 Giants.

Both were Wild Card teams that won three playoff road games to reach the Super Bowl. The Pats had 6 losses after the SB and the Giants will have 7 when they get beat this Sunday.

The 85 Pats playoff record:
WildCard W @ New York Jets 26 14
Division W @ Los Angeles Raiders 27 20
ConfChamp W @ Miami Dolphins 31 14
SuperBowl L N Chicago Bears 10 46

Scored 362 points (22.6/g), 10th of 28 in the NFL.
Allowed 290 points (18.1/g), 6th.
Differential of 72 points (4.5/g), 6th.
Takeaway/Giveaway Differential +5 (0.3/g), 7th.
Coached by Raymond Berry - 11-5 regular season record.

2007 Giants playoff record:
WildCard W @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24 14
Division W @ Dallas Cowboys 21 17
ConfChamp W @ Green Bay Packers 23 20
SuperBowl - TBA

Scored 373 points (23.3/g), 14th of 32 in the NFL.
Allowed 351 points (21.9/g), 17th.
Differential of 22 points (1.4/g), 13th.
Takeaway/Giveaway Differential -10 (-0.6/g), 26th.
Coached by Tom Caughlin - 10-6 regular season record.

Wil Im just talking about dominance.

If they beat the Giants by 3 to 10 points they basically played three tight playoff games. To be the best you dominate
Jordan,Woods,Ruth style.

2 shut outs and 123 yards in the Super Bowl.

That is what the Pats should be doing. Just my opinion...

Do a little home work and check the NFL results from Monday December 2nd 1985..Those Bears were definitely less than dominating that day. No one can argue differently and be taken seriously.

wil..

PS. Not to mention 1986 when the Bears went one and out (Redskins 27-13 in Chicago) in the playoffs after a 14-2 regular season. They won and played in just one Super Bowl. There is no comparing the teams as far as being a dynasty goes.

regarding that challenge, in madden, you only need to get one foot in bounds to be in bounds.

I think it has to do with the programming.

I know my history. I watched it with my dying grandpa as he was a lifelong Bears fan. They will always be the best :aktion033

As far as dynasty I 100% give you Pats over the 00's but for one season I take them. Again its opinion not fact.

The 1980 Bears..

One other comment about that team - they only won two more playoff games after the 85 SB before they finally fell apart in 1992 (5-10 record) under Mike Ditka. The following year Dave Wannstadt took over for Ditka and Chicago went 7-9 and a new Bears era was in place.

The two wins:
20-12 win over the Eagles in Chicago in the 1988 Divisional game (had 1st round bye) before losing to the 49ers in Chicago 28-3 in the NFC Conference Championship Game.

16-6 win over the Saints in Chicago in the 1990 Wild Card game before losing to The Giants 31-3 @ The Meadowlands in one of the NFC Divisional games.

Definitely a one trick pony of a team when you bring up winning super bowls..

TTP -- I do understand you are a big Bears fan and have very fond memories of watching The Bears play during their undoubtably great 1985 season with your grandfather. A season that all Bears fans today over the age of say 32 have to remember very fondly.

Like I said earlier in a post in one of these threads, many fans rate teams based on them being fans of that team or dislike of another team (none more than the present day Pats) and not unbiased by likes and dislikes. Nothing to be ashamed of it's only human nature..

If that were the case, the Giants would've had a touchdown on the other challenge. I think if you look closely at Moss' foot, his heel touches in-bounds before the rest of his foot comes down out-of-bounds.

I remember when you could put some stock in these simulations, but now even the Boston Globe has one.
