How does this work? Here's how I THINK it works, but not sure. Theres a 4/5 going off. I think this horse is going to lose. I somehow log onto the site and try and offer 7/2 odds on this horse, basically turning myself into some sort of proxy bookie. Some chalk eating weasel decides to bet $40 on my offer. I'm guessing I need to have at least $180+ in my account to pull this off. What is betfair's take in all of this? This seems like a shitty bet though in that I'm risking $180 against a 4/5 to win $40.

Shitty bet, but Betfair take between 2-5% from the winnings only. i.e if you win that $40 then they take between 2-5% of the $40 winnings. I'm not sure what the commission % for horses is exactly so I can't be more precise.
