That's the biggest loss in NFL history - maybe all of sports other than USA over USSR

The consequences of the loss are monumental - you take the greatest season in NFL history - and arguably the greatest team of all time - and simply throw that all in the trash - I just don't see another loss with this kind of significance.

This is so true....I don't know how you can recover from a loss like that.

Think the Bosox coming back being down 0-3 in a post season series was bigger than tonight

Yes, the Red Sox win after being down to 3-0 to the Yanks was a bigger win than the Giants win - but the Pats loss was the biggest loss I can recall

Not true Seymor. There were much bigger upsets. Pats were only 12 point favorites and the Rams were 14 over us a couple of years ago. It is a biggie but not the biggest. No way. patriots were flawed and almost lost a 3 or 4 times. Undefeated yes but they were beatable and we finally lost. Not the biggest ever or anything like that. A 12 point favorite is a 12 point favorite. Jets with Namath were much more underdogs and the Rams a few years ago too whether you want to buy it or not.

To compare it to the Russians getting beat is not even remotely close. I can list many many upsets bigger.

Buster Douglas over Mike Tyson was a far bigger upset. So was Florida over the Yankees, and U of Miami over Nebraska in the Orange Bowl in '84. Don't forget about the '69 Mets and the 1990 A's over Cinci.

BoSox were +1400 to win the series when they were down 3-0.

App St over Michigan was a bigger upset too.

There are a million upsets bigger than this. This post is not remotely accurate. They were undefeated yes but beatable. a 12 point favorite loses at times. Like tonight.

Going by pointspreads, the Pats win over the Rams was a bigger one.
