Can I try to put it back in? I have 2, so its not like I have to have it immed. Also, I'm at the ft of the WSOP circuit SD $1k today, $30k to win, I final tabled my last event too getting 4th, I'm posting blogs in the poker forum and at my site btw for those interested.

It is good to go....what is the worst that can happen?

IMO, worst case scenario it doesn't work

my worst case sceneario is that it somehow screws up the laptop

I understand that is your concern but I don't see how that is possible. As long as the part that connects to the laptop isn't wet (if you are paranoid, rusted as well), I don't see how it can damage the laptop....the battery could be rotting inside but I don't forsee a super charge of power that can come from it and kill your computer....water can conduct electricity but I don't see electricity conducting water.

but I'm no expert...so I guess safest thing to do is trash it

lick it and see what it tastes like

I licked the back of a toad once and immediately heard Jefferson Airplane in quadrophonic stereo

If it's dry, and there's no indication of any water inside the battery, it should be fine.
