Even if they try the field goal, there is NO guarantee that it would have been good.

Also, even if the field goal is good, then the game is totally different and who knows what would have happened after that!

Get over it guys, that field goal did NOT cost them the game.

Maybe had Belichick decided to put a running back in the backfield to protect Brady, then NE wins last night by 2 touchdowns

Yes, you have no proof whether the FG would have been good. However to dismiss it entirely is outright stupidity. The possibility of those 3 points changes the ENTIRE game as Eli's 2nd TD pass ties the game up instead of winning it for them.

If not for this - that would have happened - if not for that - this would have happened

I can assure you that the Pats lost this game because of an inability to adequately protect Brady.

Supposedly Gotkowski was hurt (warmups?) and that was the reason they went for the 4th down.

I was simply pissed b/c I had a prop that each team kicked a FG for a lot of money. Giants couldnt hold NE on 3rddown a few times, then they opt to pass on the 49 yarder.

Another stupid ass post by you that doesn't make any sense. You say right here that the game would have played out differently if they made the field goal. Ofcourse it would, but yet you say it didn't matter. What a tool.

Yes, that was a bad call

Gostkowski's range
Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff February 3, 2008 05:30 PM

With the retractable roof closed at University of Phoenix Stadium, kicker Stephen Gostkowski finished off his pre-game warmup by hitting from 53 yards. So that gives a little bit of an idea regarding field-goal range tonight. The ball looks to be carrying well.

At that spot on the field when you decide to go for it on 4th and 13 you are saying a number of things:

a. your fg kicker is a **** sucker and shouldn't be on your team if he can't make that in the Super Bowl.

b. your defense is old and tired and can't get any pressure on the QB so we are desperate and must try and pick up the 13 yards.

c. my name is bellicheat and I can prove to you that I really am crazy.

Take your pick!:103631605

FG kicker had to have been hurt. New England will never come out and say that now, cause everyone would say they were sore losers...

But at the end of the game with 30 seconds and 3 time outs, you need 40 yards for a FG try... That's 3 10-20 yard passes against a defense with 7-8 guys 30 yards down field.

If you run Moss 50 yards and run Welker under, he is wide open. If Moss stops 20 yards downfield, he is wide open.

The fact that NE threw up 3 bomsb (Would have been 4 if not sacked) tells me all I need to know about their kicker....

Question though for you all who think he was hurt.

Why were they trying to get into field goal range at the end of the half?

If they had no one to kick a long field goal why risk it and not just take a knee with a 4 point lead?

Who says they were just trying to get into FG range. They were trying to drive down the field, maybe for a TD.

Hey retard.
The FG is not even an issue if several plays before Belichick dosen't throw a challenge flag to catch the Giants with too many men on the field.Which about 30 out of 32 coaches in the NFL would have missed.

Jesus your easy. I mean this like mental batting practice.fuckin bring something will ya....WTF...lmao.
