Actually I have never played any fantasy baseball and am not even sure how the draft works but my question is if you had the number one pick of anyone at any position in baseball to kick off your league who would you take?

Every active player is available to you....Regardless of position..

Thanks,wil...

Although I don't agree, I know someone who took Santana..HarryC is right...Arod or Reyes, maybe Pujols...

Alex Rodriguez. Reyes 2nd. Hanley 3rd. Pujols 4th. Just my opinion.

ARod does it all and puts up insane numbers and has shown no signs of slowing down. Hanley may struggle without Cabrera for lineup protection and had offseason surgery and those are the only reasons he's behind Reyes and not up for top pick consideration.

Santana will have a monster year IMO. He should go late first/early second round. But no way b4 Arod, Reyes, Pujols, or even the likes of Hanley Ramirez, David Wright, Jimmy Rollins, Holliday, and a few others.

Santana is a definite first rounder IMO. Not a top 5 pick though. The guy should win close to 20 games this year with a great ERA and Ks. Pitchers just aren't as valuable as the elite hitters though.

I hate the Yankees, but last year I got Arod and he totally carried my team.

You realize what a great player he is when you have him on your fantasy squad.

Don't take pitchers in the early rounds. You can always get good pitching down the road.

AROD, yeah

Do think getting a horse SP by Round 3 (or 4 if you're near end of choosers and at front end of 4th round)....But SPs all have potential to lose time and that of course devalues their contribution.

STRONGLY suggest playing Roto style instead of "Head2Head"

I have dropped Pujols down further this year because of his lingering injury...it may just bite him and he said he will not play through it this year.

Last year, I played in 3 leagues.
Top 5:

1. Albert Pujols
2. David Ortiz
3. Johan Santana my pick :think2:
4. Chris Carpenter
5. Alfonso Soriano

1. Albert Pujols
2. Alfonso Soriano
3. Kevin Millwood :missingte
4. Johan Santana my pick :think2:
5. José Reyes

1. Albert Pujols
2. Ryan Howard
3. Johan Santana
4. Alfonso Soriano
5. Álex Rodríguez

My pick (#8 was Reyes)

I don't like first picks, but I will choose A-rod probably, or Reyes.

IMO A-Rod is first choice then either Hanley or Reyes depending on preference. I don't take pitchers in the first round but this year Santana could be an exception I'll have to look at it closer to the season. Google fantasy baseball championship, I've been in it for the last 4 years it is a great league!

ARod

I frown on taking SB guys in the first round. Those guys are more injury-prone, look at Soriano last year. Soriano and Derrick Lee are good bounce back guys. I like to get saves late, not a big difference between the top 15.

How many Cubs on your team?:lolBIG:

If history has taught us anything, it is to draft Kerry Wood and Mark Prior extremely high this year. Listen up anyone playing against the 3-headed monster that is "TimeToBombJake". Haha can that be our team name or what?
