Giants and Coughline play tough hard nosed football and that is how you win. The Patriots too for years. All that West Coast nonsense and Mike Martz pass happy offense will not win long term. It may sell a few tickets, put a few fannies in the seats and have moments of scoring a lot, but it is not the answer if you want to win consistently. You got to be tough, play hard and physical. Giants did that. I might add the Patriots did not play as smash mouth as in past years and look what happened. Hmmmmmmm......

The Patriots simply forgot how to block. That lineman going down in the first few series was a big deal even though he was a guard.

I've read a few places Brady had a concussion. Would make sense. He was not animated on the sidelines, and his only decent drive was at the end - was his head clearing up?

Anyways, you can bet on the Patriots going out and getting one more good Oline man for situations where a guy gets hurt.

The other thing I really did not understand is why not put 5 receivers out there and spread out the Giants secondary? It was always 3 and a back. If you can't block the dline, you might as well have 5 receivers and throw all 5 yard balls... Worked all year. Why not use it now? I suspect something was really wrong with Tom - doubt it was the ankle, but a concussion would make a lot of sense. I dont think I've ever seen the pats run on 3rd and 3 before...

Giants played great!!!
