Ok, I've never used Moneygram or WU, but when you're sending or receiving money shouldn't they ALWAYS ask for an ID? For receiving at the very least.

I've never received, but I can see it there.

Sending is different, some use false names to send, I give real info, but don't like producing a DL.

I've never been asked for ID. I've sent a lot of money to Managua and places like that. Thats with WU though.

I usually use the supermarket, they never ask for ID. I did it at a Wal-mart about a week ago ( only $300), bitch carded me, didn't know what she was doing, couldn't find Nicaragua.... didn't really like my comment of just North of Costa Rica, had to page her supervisor to come help her, meanwhile the line is building up at C/S while the Walmart idiot crew tries to figure it out.

I'll never do it at Wal-Mart again ! It always makes me feel like a criminal sending money to these receivers in Latin America, like it's a coke deal or something !

The whole procedure is awkward, and rather easily identifiable as gambling.

I think it was made for illegal immigrants to send money back home to Mexico.

It certainly must be a deterrent to casual gamblers used to NT, the guy that jumps in to bet the SB at Sportsbook.com type of player.

I've only been asked once, ever, but you can always say you are sending money to your housecleaner's family. Perfectly legitimate.
