Trying to do a ton of reading today to get caught up and I just can't keep concentration for more than a few minutes. When I do read for more than a few minutes, I'll go a few pages and have no idea what the hell I just read. Always thinking about other stuff even if the TV is off and no music is playing.

Anyone ever take this stuff? My buddy recommended that I take a look into it. Any advice would be appreciated because I just am not digging Friedman's Capitalism and Freedom right now. If it's something I'm interested in, I can read all day and be fine. I'm reading Michael Lewis' Moneyball about Billy Beane and the Oakland A's and I have no problem keeping attention there, but it's the stuff that doesn't interest me where I just can't concentrate.

Maybe you can't concentrate because it's boring? If there's a pill that can make boring shit seem interesting you got yourself a blockbuster.

Haha well Aderol is supposed to make you concentrate. It still won't be interesting but it's supposed to make me grasp what I'm reading and not be distracted. I just need to never take a Government or Poly Sci class again I think. Never had any success with this stuff.

I have friends in college who swear by it. Say it's a miracle drug for studying/cramming.

Never tried it, though. Like D2bets said, shit is SUPPOSED to be boring.

I imagine its the same as Ridalin. If so, when used correctly it's AMAZING. I had a friend with A.D.D who used to sell them to us before long study sessions and it's a miracle drug.

I could sit there and study for 5 hours straight without breaking concentration. I have also used it a bit playing live poker and it's a huge help. Key is moderation. Don't take it every single day thinking it will help you out in everything you do. Take it when you really need it and you will notice a huge concentration increase.

Yo Jake Dont Even Think About It. It Has Bad Side Affects. I Remember When I Was In College A Lot Of Friends Of Mine Would Take Alderol So That They Can Study The Night Before For Midterms And Finals. The Next Day They Would Feel Real Depressed And They Would Be Crashing Like Crazy. My Advice To You Stay Away Unless You Want To Be Dependent On It For The Rest Of Your Life.

I wonder if more and more people are finding it difficult to concentrate, especially those of us who read message boards. I mean we read snippets of information that take less than 30 seconds to read only to go on to the next snippet to get our fix of opiate in our brains.

It's hard to continue reading a difficult article. The opiate connectors in our brains don't get fed as frequently.

QB thug has it right. Side effects are awful. Rapid increase in heartbeat (my dad couldn't take it because they thought it may cause a heart attack). If you really need to pay attention to something, read it over a couple times. It is better than taking aderol believe me.

Concentrating is getting harder for everyone. I started reading books more often and it helps a ton.

different material demands different reading speeds.

if you like it and have an interest in it, of course you can read it quicker and remember it all.

slow down and make an effort to remember what you are reading.

your eyeballs are moving faster than your noggin wants to take it in

Just did a little research and I originally assumed Ritalin (the one I have used before) and Adderal contained the same active ingredients, however they don't. They are used to treat the same thing though (Attention Deficit Disorder).

So while they have basically the same effects, I have not used the drug you mentioned specifically.

adderall does make reading boring material more interesting. it also makes your heart explode and causes paranoid delusional behavior, depression, psychosis. You could just do meth.

D- I can vouch for your friends.

It is the closest thing to a miracle drug there is.

I am a recent college grad and Adderall is the reason I passed any exam I've ever taken in college.

This shit went for a dollar a milligram when I was in college or exam week.. you can make a fortune!!
It is like cocaine if you do not have ADD.. I have ADD in my family, wasn't born with it (or choose not to admit it, but I don't have a hard time concentrating) and I've taken it... knocked out 10page research reports in 14hours before..
If you take it late, you won't be able to sleep.. they have controlled release ones I think, these won't help you out as much as they are targeted more at controlling people that actually have ADD in comparison to being bored

You guys should go out and do some menial labor. The more physical the better. Roofing, some type of landscaping, field work.

It'll do miracles for increasing your ability to study. You'll find sick motivation to pay attention. No drugs needed.
