Why would RESET your record?

I've done it before. Not really reset it as I have included it separately... something like:

Old record:
New record:

When I am struggling I evaluate what I am doing wrong, make some changes to the way I handicap games, and then start anew. It's just a way to see how it's going after the change in a separate record. That's the only reason I do it. I hate it when people start from scratch and just throw their old record out though. That's tout behavior.

I guess I kinda of understand for your own personal reasons, but maybe when someone posts they should always show their old and new record.....

jakethompson you've created new running threads that start from scratch and don't include the record of your previous successful/failed system even though it's still a record of how you've done in the sport
same thing as resetting

yep he does that stuff.

You are 0-for-1 on truth.

I'm assuming you are talking about my College Hoops thread where I had on yearly post and then started another. I was up in the first one but wanted to change the way I post picks and included a note that I was up a little bit when I made the switch. Original record was included in the new thread.

Not sure about resetting record, but it would be a neat trick to reset bankroll with sportsbook after losses. Maybe they'd go for it we called it a "reset". :103631605

do you really need to hear the answer? People do it because for some weird strange reason they want to look successful before tens of anonymous gamblers. It relates to the junior high quality of looking "cool."

I don't think SCTrojan is referring to Jake Thompson.

Maybe he's talking about Homie? He reset his record, but seems to be posting his actual record now.

I didn't like the resetting either, but Homie's OK in my book. It takes a lot to lose and keep on posting. I'm just waiting for him to turn it around and I'll jump on. Also, he posts 4 or 5 unit plays a lot of the time, so a small hot streak will get him right back in the black.

But I'm not following his plays right now, no sir.

Nah I highly doubt he was referring to me at all. I just wanted to correct Dsethi who thought that I had reset my record and not included how I did previously.
