jim zorns greatest game

he played against san diego chargers with dan foust...........zorn completed a comeback to keep it close with a td at the buzzer...........lol

he throws an incomplete pass with a few seconds left and they call a pass interference call in the endzone and the next play with no time left he is falling down and scores a td to cover the point spread...........which game i need the year and boxscore thanks................:nohead:

The only games Jim Zorn ever played vs San Diego that are similar to details above.

Sunday September 3rd. 1978
San Diego 24 Seattle 20.
With 6 seconds to play Jim Zorn conected on a 33 yard TD Pass with
Steve Largent to keep the game close in The Kingdome.
Zorn was 21 of 32 for a then club record 329 yards.

Novemeber 27th 1977
San Diego 30 Seattle 28.
Jim Zorn hit RB David Sims with a 16 yard TD late in the
game to bring the Seahawks to within 2 points at
30-28 in the Kingdome.

believe it or not neithere one.................zorn threw a 50 yard pass from midfield with a pass interference call and then threw it from the one yard line falling down.............i rememberr watching the game like it was yesterday san diego was about a 14 point favorite and zorn covered with no time left....................:nohead:

I looked at every game that Zorn ever played against the Chargers and just did not see him scoring any 1 yard TDs passes late in the game to cover. Either of the games I mentioned both ended on late Zorn TD passes (Largent with 6 seconds to play) that resulted in Seahawk covers over Dan Fouts led Charger teams but were for longer yardage.

Natrually I could of overlooked the game you are referring to somehow.

Remember the game well. Had a ton on San Diego, it was Dan Fouts -Kellen Winslow-high powered offense. They were the first to play that way, but they didnt have a clue how to control the clock. It was a Saturday afternoon game.

I know the game you mean now.

Zorn did not have that great of a game. It was played on Saturday December 13th. 1980 at San Diego Stadium. The Chargers won 21-14 after taking a 21-0 lead at the half. Zorn hit Largent with a two yard pass late in the game to make the score fall seven. The Seahawks also got a 16 yard run from Jim Jodat in the 3rd quarter to make the score 21-7.

Bottom line you are right as the late two yard (not one yard) TD pass covered the 14 point spread. However it has never been considered as one of Zorn's best games against any opponet. He passed for just 152 yards and the one TD.

I was looking for great games that almost resulted in on the field wins.
