never really have to do this as the books do the math for you....

if you have a bet where you lay 792$ to win 425$.

how do you take this information and fund out what the American Odds were? Is there an online calculator that does this for ya?

setting up a proportion 792/425 = X/100, x = 186. as in 86 cent juice. Hope that answered your question.

Now that I am reminded of the formula, I feel foolish of course, I remember doing these in grade 1 over and over again......

I guess if you don't use it, you do lose it as they say.

If you want to find the percentage chance of winning do
the amount that you lay/ the amount that you lay + the amount that you win i.e. 792/792+425 = 65%

Screw the math, what is the bet ?

Chicago Blackhawks +1.5 over the Vancouver cannucks.....

by combining a scalp and weighing one side I was able to get this price on the Blackhawks +1.5, whereas the average line out there is -220.

Its funny becoz I probably get better numbers 85% of the time than most of the people laughing at me in this thread.

Im laying -186 on a game which is widely being sold at -220, even I am smart enough to know that "win or lose" ive got a good play.

OK, can you explain how you did this ?

I can't see Matchbook being involved with no PL. I'm guessing you bought a side early, and caught a line move ?

Pinny likely in it, maybe 5D and Betfair ?

I see a 30 cent line move from the opener.

no doug, the reality is, that us NON AMERICANS have the advantage of playing at books such as Bet365 that offer more opinionated lines....

I made this wager in "real time"

<table class="border1 mb10" xmlns:s="uuid:BDC6E3F0-6DA3-11d1-A2A3-00AA00C14882" xmlns:dt="uuid:C2F41010-65B3-11d1-A29F-00AA00C14882" xmlns:rs="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:rowset" xmlns:z="#RowsetSchema" xmlns:bet365="http://www.bet365.com/ns" xmlns:prs="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:rowset" xmlns:pz="#RowsetSchema" border="0" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0" width="610"><tbody><tr class="hdg2"><td class="ctr">Event Date</td><td class="ctr">Event</td><td class="ctr">Selections</td><td class="ctr">Odds</td><td class="ctr">E/W Terms</td><td class="ctr">Result</td></tr><tr><td class="ctr c1 bevel">1</td><td class="ctr c3 bevel">02/10/2008</td><td class="ctr c1 bevel">CHI Blackhawks @ VAN Canucks

EDIT: I just realized it is actually 792$ to win 400$ (I posted 425$) earlier

Incidentally, Vancouver is in a world of trouble right now, id be suprised if they can win by more than 2 so this is a large play for me, and even at that, I may buy a bit more on Vancouver -.5 before the game starts.

I used to like Bet$3.65 when I could play there, and use Neteller.

I may play some of this myself. Canadians and hockey mix well ! %^_

2+2 = SS in NHL follow him always.

try, its funny my lifelong friend mr clubmancoop thinks that all I do is "throw darts" when I bet the NHL I have been trying to show him for years but he refuses to listen.

Truth be told, collectively I will say this.... the RX.com NHL forum is the best single sports forum of any forum I have ever seen, the winners and info that come out of that forum at a phenomenal rate.
