ok, I know all you big balling high rollers have gone on cruises, I dont know a damn thing about them but would like to try one out this summer. Id like to hit the caribean and would like it to be a 7day. Other than that Id just like something nice without being killed in price. Anyone?

You get what you pay for on Carnival. Good for kids, but shitty food.

princess cruises is nice for the money...fwiw

It all depends on how much $$ you want to spend

Princess and Celebrity are decent for the low budget types.

Crystal and Silversea if you are looking for better service and more upscale type ships.

Just Got back from a Cruise.......Why would you want to go to Caribbean in the Summer ?????

Crystal .....is amazing . I never heard any complaints about them, except the price

How about Norwegian cruise line? whats wrong with the caribean during summer? I just want somewhere nice to go, I do have some cash to spend, Id like to keep it between 7-1000 with an ocean view

I took a Norwegian cruise to Alaska 2 years ago. Seven days and they are top notch - I love their freestyle cruising, meaning you can eat whenever you want and don't have any sort of thing were you have to sit with people you don't know. Went with my wife, 2 kids and my parents and we had a blast. I really can't recommend them enough.

I was looking at one of those, my biggest problem right now I think is flying to the port, damn its expensive.

For a 7-day under 1K you're probably looking at an inside stateroom, not an oceanview balcony. I was on NCL last year and going again next Month. I like the Freestyle thing and they basically have a dozen r so specialty restaurants to try instead of just one place every night. I like it. I was on the Jewel last year, very nice ship.

My family and I went on a Carnival cruise in February '98 to the Bahamas (4 days) and the food was delicious. Sorry to hear that they've gone downhill lately.

The next Caribbean vacation I'm going on will be a ClubMed type deal. During our cruise in '98 we were on the ocean for 2 days and the entertainment on the ship sucked. How boring.

If your not a "high roller" andd a drinker the bar bill can get high!
The reason is, it's a party for 7 days and you don't pay until the end.
When they hit ya with a $800 bill you'd shit!
Smuggling booze on board was as much fun as the cruise.
Sort of be bad, but no penalty if caught.
