In each episode Suvivorman Les Stroud places himself in a unique survival situation. The show is meant to demonstrate how one might survive alone in a remote location with minimal supplies until being rescued. Finding food, water, and materials to make fire and shelter pose the main challenges of each episode.

Survivorman Les Stroud warms up in the Canadian Rockies...

I enjoy watching the show as it is apparently a legitimate survival situation that Stroud must somehow stay alive alone with the bare minimum for seven days on each episode.

I watched an episode yesterday called "Lost at Sea" where he was set adrift in a small raft off the coast of the Central American country of Belize. Stroud confronts the psychological effects of isolation, physical injury, and exhaustion. There is an episode that takes place in Costa Rica that I have not seen yet.

Not for everyone but interesting reality show about how to survive in desparate and isolated situations.

I like it o.k. but I like Man V. Wild a lot more. Bear is much more entertaining and does some crazier shit.

If I remember correctly, that guy was caught staying in hotels and such during his supposed "outings"...

Les is awesome I think I have seen them all. He does his own filming there is nobody there to help him at all.

LOL yeah he's ask his camera man for a sandwich and some bottle water.

Les is very good at what he tries to do. The other guy is more into entertainment.

Maybe they should have a "survivor" showdown between these two.

Seems like ratings gold.

Like Survivorman and he looks legit. Man vs Wild is entertaining, but there are videos showing him not too far away from roads and civilization. You can't tell me that he doesn't take food and water from the cameraman. Plus they say he packs up at night and stays at a hotel.

The link to the story about one or the other of them faking was posted on TheRX... I don't feel like searching now I'm in the middle of a game of pool and a Mickey's Ice.

You're thinking of the guy from Man vs Wild.
Survivorman is the guy that made a urine still to drink water from his own piss

Love both shows, more so Survivorman. It takes some serious balls to do all that shit on your own. That being said, I agree with the guy that said Bear is more skilled.

this video explains everything about Man vs. Wild's lack of credibility

I'm convinced Bear is quite the faker now. The shoed wildhorse is pretty bad. I change my vote to Les to led me out of the jungle. I have noticed that there is a paragraph or two of text they flash up, that didn't used to be there. It says some mumbo jumbo about support.

<!-- start content --> Below, you'll find an (incomplete) listing of evidence that the show's narrative doesn't match reality -- evidence of items used by Bear that he shouldn't have, techniques not working the way that they actually do, domesticated animals in a wild setting, the camera crew making his life easier, scene discontinuities, and so forth.

Bear might have faked a few things,
but he still knows and does more regarding survival on that show than any of us could.

You watch the one where he is in the Sahara?!
