Tiger is without a doubt one of the most popular atheletes in the world but some people still root against him for whatever reason (I am not talking about race here). Some of us just automatically root for the underdog, others have their own favorites and still others hate to see the records of the greats from the past be surpassed are some reasons I can think of to root against Tiger. Regardless of the reason "Do You Root For Or Against Tiger Woods Whenever He is In Contention To Win An Event?

I used to idolize Philly....back when he was the best player to never win a major. He was the guy that never got to the next level because he would gamble too much on the course and take chances. Reminded me of all of us so was always a Phil fan and NOT tiger.

Although wil informed me Mickelson is a stiff so now i have to rethink things.

Although, I find myself rooting against tiger all the time because of 3 things:

1) is it just me or is he the most arrogant golfer ever (with reason)

2) he never comes to Hawaii...too good for it

3) In my heart of hearts, no matter what Tiger does (which will probably be the greatest accomplishment in the history of golf), he will always be #2 to my childhood hero, Jack Nickalaus

Only want him to win - if he's not in the tournament it is a worthless event - I also like when he wins by 5 or more strokes - I love to see him blow everyone out.

I just see a robot when I watch guys like Tiger Woods and Barry Bonds and Wayne Gretzky.

These guys should be good and are more like science projects than anything else.

I always wonder how good the other players would be if they started playing the games at age 3 every day by their fathers who basictly programed them.

They are nothing special in my opinion and of course SHOULD WIN MORE THAN THE REST OF US NORMAL PEOPLE.

Tiger will retire as the greatest golfer to ever have played the game. He's the only reason I watch golf. It just sucks that some people don't like him or hate him because he's part black. He's the Michael Jordan of golf. Tiger rules!

Tiger is an amazing golfer and a great competitor. I always root for him unless there's a slight chance John Daly will win.........which is usually never, lol

how could any one root against this guy, he is very well mannered the only time you see him in the media spotlight is because he just WON a tourney some where. alot of atheletes could learn alot from this guy he is first class all the way.

you never hear anything bad about the guy or really ever hear him saying anything bad about some one.

and records where meant to be broken, if not any sport would be boring.

Don't hate it when he loses but I root for him, especially since he is generally carrying my money. After 3 rounds at Dubai he was behind 4 strokes. If only I had put more on him at better than +400!! The guy is a phenomenon when he is on, which is most of the time.

I'm one of the few here, I guess, to see him at age 3 on the Andy Williams show. He was good then.

I used to dislike the guy cause he had no emotion. He never seemed to smile while on the course. Completely focused every time I saw him on TV. I have played a lot more golf now and can at least understand why I saw that now. But, I think he has seemed to enjoy himself a lot more over the last couple years and I have really grown to like him a lot as a both a player and just as a great guy to be the face of that sport right now. As far as rooting goes, I root for who I have money on in golf. Beyond that I could careless.

If you've watched him play and listened to him talk then you almost can't help but like him.

I bet against him (and usually lose) but just because i think his odds are inflated........i guess they're not though bc like i said i usually lose.

Too full a bandwagon for me. His youth coach was John Anselmo in Huntington Beach, a par 5 from my house. I have been watching him since he was 10 years old. The bookmakers just now catching on after 10 years that he likes Bay Hill, Firestone,Torrey, and MAsters. Wake me up when he wins at the Colonial or the Riv.

You wouldn't know greatness if it bit you in the ass...Tiger is perhaps the greatest golfer since Nicklaus and soon, all records will be owned by Tiger...If you have been watching him since he was ten, you sure missed a lot because he is the greatest golfer you will see in your lifetime...Get your head out of your ass and admit it, that will be your first step to enjoying greatness...I'm an Arnold Palmer fan, but at least I can say that Tiger and Nicklaus are on a different level...

If he won at Southern Hills and Royal Liverpool, he can win on any course in the world.
