82 games and 5 teams? A bit ridiculous unless I'm not interpreting this correctly.

maybe to you yea, but not rest of the world. all star game airing in 215 countries, basketball fastest growing sport in the world, huge nba following in europe. they re-air nba games in italy because the demand is so high. basketball is a global game, like soccer. it would only make sense to expand internationally. hell, nba is huge in china to.

I thought the NBA was doing well sales-wise. I could definitely see franchises like the grizzlies, bobcats, hornets, or sonics move into that european department because their attendance rates are horrible.

i wouldnt say its dying. espn wouldnt pay over a billion for nba rights if they thought it was dying. the interest, or ratings we go by to determine arn't as high because of no new york, big market or whatever finals. you see the red sox/rockies series, the ratings were similar to the cavs/spurs series.

nba also has the most popular athletes as a whole compared to other sports.

I feel sorry for the poor bastards that sat through the Cavs/Spurs series last year. I know I wasn't one of them.

Yea it was a bad series with low ratings. But that's to be expected, because it's 2 small market teams. Ratings are always shitty for any sport except the NFL when it's small market teams. NFL is king in this country because it's an american game.

If the Suns would have made it instead of the Spurs I'd gaurantee the ratings would be more than double, even if it is against another boring team in the Cavs.

The Spurs dynasty is the worst thing the NBA could see when you think about it.

Agree with that. I think the American fan likes the flash more. The up and down like the Nuggets, Warriors, Suns. Could happen this season. West is too tough to call.

It's nothing like soccer as there is nothing like soccer. Soccer is a religion to many areas of the world.

That doesn't mean many people watched it. When they talking about numbers they generally mean the potential audience, and actual audience is only a fraction of that.

NFL is king in this country because it's an american game

Football, no matter the type, is king in most countries.
