The 700 Level unearthed a video of former Sixer Charles Barkley ranting on ESPN’s Jim Rome show about his “loss” at the Super Bowl. Barkley went away from the money line and his instincts on the Giants and instead went the safe route — and ended up losing $100k on the Patriots.
Of course, this isn’t new territory for Sir Charles, who’s always been upfront about his exorbitant gambling habit. He discusses it a little bit in this month’s Playboy, telling a tale of how he once lost $2 million in one night at the casinos. Also in the interview, Sir Charles offers up his nomination for the worst fans in sports:
When I played, the Boston Celtics had the meanest fans. They were the worst fans. They just loved their team and they were mean and nasty. I ain’t been back. I wish I had been there the last 10 years when they really sucked.
The “meanest” fans. That sounds about right.
