Websites Subpoenaed for Taking Online Gambling Ads <hr style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> Gambling911.com can report exclusively that websites accepting ads for at least one online gambling venture are now being subpoenaed.
"The subpoena is asking for documents related to the advertising arrangement," one website operator disclosed to Gambling911.com this afternoon.
Gambling911.com was expected to be subpoenaed shortly.
The immediate contents of the subpoena could not be disclosed due to "confidentiality" stipulations.
The matter in question is not directly connected to passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, however, it could place many "support" venues and publishing websites in danger of losing crucial ad revenue. This relates to civil patent suit involving one specific online gambling operator.
In other news, there is a sealed indictment against an online poker operator by the U.S. Government. Gambling911.com reported only two days ago that another individual involved in running an online poker website licensed by Action Poker could be sent back to the U.S. and is facing over 100 years in prison.
"His (the gentleman in Italy) case is a lot more complicated than just gambling," a source tells Gambling911.com.
The sealed indictment in question is not related to the former Action Poker licensee.
Gambling911.com will continue to monitor this development as it transpires
