ruffian is the reason I am a horse racing fan

I was a huge foolish Pleasure Fan (that Derby was the first one I ever say in TV, and picked foolish Pleasure by name and he won..)

then watched that match race and was devistated (As a young boy I did not realizxe they killed horses that were hurt)

I have a different list here are what I think are the top 5 horses I have followed or seen race in my lifetime

(I never saw secretariat run I was just a bit too young)

1. cigar

2. affirmed

3. seattle slew

4. Sunday silence

5. spectacular bid

He benefitted from extremely poor competition. Kelso won horse of the year five times.. I don't know one guy at the track who thinks John Henry is top 10.. And I've had this discussion a million times.
